Josie Mullins

Josie Mullins, 90, of Gibsonton, passed away on March 25, 2008. Born in Dwight, VA, Josie was a resident of Gibsonton since 1962 and was an avid bingo player in the area.

She is pre­deceased by her two ­husbands, Stuart Hardin, Boyd Mullins Sr.; and one daughter, Dollie Justus.

She is survived by her children, Eldin Hardin of WV, Clifford Hardin of TN, Parker Hardin of MS, Jay Hardin, Okie Youngman and Boyd Mullins, Jr. of FL. Other children include Leon ­Mullins and Josephine Bassham of FL, ­Alberta Stacey of VA and Betty Sue Ortiz of TX; 39 grandchildren and too many great- and great-great-grandchildren to count.

A funeral service took place on March 27 at Serenity Meadows ­Funeral Home, 6919 Providence Rd., Riverview. Interment followed at Hackney Cemetery, Riverview.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to LifePath Hospice, (813) 871-8111; or Development Department, 12973 N. Telecom Parkway, Suite 100, Temple Terrace, FL 33637.

Norma Reed

Norma Reed, 92, of Sun City ­Center passed away on March 22, 2008 in South Bay Hospital.

She was born November 20, 1915 in Anna, OH and retired to Gulf Lakes, Bradenton, FL in 1978 where she worked for 30 years as a hospital volunteer at Blake Medical Center. She was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church.

Survivors include one son, Larry of Indiana; two daughters, Sandra ­Harris of NC and Rita Lambdin of FL; one brother, Wilbur Heiland of OH; four sisters, Laura Kantner, ­Alvina Brandt, Donna Short of OH, and Hilda Nance of MD; eight grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. She is predeceased in death by two brothers; one sister; and her two husbands, Walter Finkenbine and Robert Reed. Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. on March 25 at Manasota ­Memorial Funeral Home, Bradenton with Rev. Peter Stiller officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to ­Redeemer Lutheran Church, 701 ­Valley Forge Blvd., Sun City ­Center, FL 33573.
