Matthew B. Schoenwald
The hopes of Matthew B. Schoenwald’s family for his happiness and the fruition of his young life ended tragically on August 4, 2008.
Born January 29, 1984 in Fort Lauderdale, to a tightly knit, loving family, Matthew grew to be a sensitive soul with uniquely creative abilities. He expressed himself passionately through a singular style of writing and through the piano and guitar, composing strongly communicatory pieces. He had a passion for cooking and for the beauty and coolness of mountainous regions and he had hopes of combining those loves by attending a culinary arts school in Colorado.
Sweet, kind, intelligent, friendly and stubborn, but always wanting to please, always wanting to do the right thing, Matthew was ever searching for his special place in the world, ever drawn to the spiritual and psychological realms for answers. And as a son, brother, friend, and confidant, he was ever loved, cherished, worried about, supported, and hoped for in all his struggles and endeavors. He leaves an empty place in our hearts as prominent and incomparable as he was in our lives.
Matthew is survived by his father, Nicholas Schoenwald of Ontario, NY; his mother, Annette Schoenwald-Kinship of Bradenton; two sisters, Sunshine Reynolds and her husband Rob, of Winter Park, and Amanda Dodson and her husband Chris, of Bradenton; four brothers Nicodemus Schoenwald, Logan Vickery, and Aziza Vickery, all of Bradenton, FL and Kipp Schoenwald and his wife Laura of Orlando, FL; his grandparents, Don and June Benoit of Utica, NY; eight uncles, four aunts, and many cousins and extended relatives that held him dear.
Memorial services for Matthew were held at 2:pm, Sunday, August 10 at Lotus Spring Foundation,109 13th Street South, Bradenton Beach, Reverend Dale Reichel  and Rabbi Rena will be officiating.

Colonel Cowan Coy  
Colonel Cowan Coy, 91, Sun City Center, FL, died Wednesday, August 13, 2008 at South Bay Hospital.
Coy was born June 9,1917 to Andrew and Aulti Coy in Kidder, KY. At the age of 20, Coy entered the US Air Force where he served over 26 years retiring as a Colonel in 1963. Coy and his beautiful wife, Winifred, then settled in Tampa before moving to Freedom Plaza in 1992. Coy was active in many organizations including the MOAA, the Lloyd Shaw Foundation, the Military Order of the World Wars, and notably the Military Officers Benevolent Corporation (MOBC/MFST) where he and Winifred have had the honor of sponsoring nine students through the MOBC Scholarship program.
He is survived by his wife of nearly 66 years, Winifred; brother, Leslie Cowan; sisters, Christine Holthoff and Opal Schmidt; and nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service was held Tuesday, August 19 in the Freedom Plaza Auditorium, Sun City Center. A private burial will be at the Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Military Family Support Trust (formerly MOBC), 1010 American Eagle Blvd. #301, Sun City Center, FL 33573.
