William Robert Crawford
William Robert Crawford, 91, of Sun City Center, died Saturday, July 18, 2009. Bill was born in Homestead, Pennsylvania on May 13, 1918. His parents were Melvin Crawford and Sarah Elizabeth Arthurs.
He spent his early years in McKeesport, PA where he married Eleanor Hooper in 1941. They have been married for 68 years.
He’s a WWII veteran, life time Shriner, a 32nd degree Mason, and an elder of the Presbyterian Church. He worked for US Steel throughout his working life in senior accounting and personnel positions.
He retired to Sun City, Arizona for many years and moved to Sun City Center, Florida in 2000. Bill always enjoyed gardening, playing chess, flying model planes and investing. He was preceded in death by his son, William Crawford, Jr. and his grandson, Benjamin Rodrick Grant. He is survived by his loving family: wife, Eleanor, daughters, Suzanne Batt and Marjorie Grant, “adopted daughter”, Eva Lee, 5 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren.
 Services were held on Thursday, July 23, at 11:00 AM at Freedom Plaza in Sun City Center. He will be greatly missed.
 In lieu of flowers, a donation to LifePath Hospice, 3010 Upper Creek Drive, Sun City Center, FL 33573 or the Freedom Plaza Scholarship Fund is suggested.
Arrangements were made under the direction of Lewers Funeral Home in Ruskin.
 

Beryl F.  Looney
Beryl F.  Looney, 71, of  Ruskin, passed away July 21, 2009. She taught kinder­garten in Riverview, Gibsonton and Ruskin,.
 She is survived by her husband, David; three children, Wendy, David and Kathy; and three children by marriage, Erin, Donna and Cindy; and 11 grandchildren.
A memorial service took place July 24, 2009, at Ruskin United Methodist Church, 105 4th Ave., N.W., Ruskin, Fla.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Ruskin United Methodist Church Children’s Daycare, P.O. Box 745, Ruskin, FL 33573 or Critter Adoption and Rescue Inc., 1528 27th Street, S.,E., Ruskin, FL 33570.
