Walter Cooper Gummere Jr.
Walter Cooper Gummere, Jr., 92, of Appalachian Brian Estates, Boone, N.C. formerly of Sun City Center, FL, died Monday evening, May 11, 2009, at his home.
He was born April 24, 1917 in Columbus, Ohio to Walter C. Gummere, Sr. and Glenn Becker Gummere.

He  earned his B.A. in English from Brown University and his M.B.A from the University of Louisville. He enjoyed a long career in business management, retiring as CEO and President of Vendo Corporation, a manufacturer of vending machines and equipment in Kansas City, MO. In his retirement, Gummere taught business courses at several colleges and universities, including the University of Utah, Clemson, Kent State, the University of Louisville, Centre College, and the American College in London. He was an avid collector of English sports and touring cars; loved to travel and kept up with many friends in many countries; was a creative remodeler of the numerous homes in which the family lived; remained a lifelong fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes; doted on his three daughters; adored his six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; and was utterly devoted to Virginia, his wife of 67 years. He was a kind man with a quick wit and a passion for life and adventure. He will be deeply missed by family and friends.
Survivors include his wife, Virginia Lee Jeffries Gummere; two daughters, Virginia Glenn Stewart, of Kansas City, Missouri and Rebecca Jane Gummere, of Sugar Grove; six grandchildren, Tricia Stewart Shiu and husband Eric; Cassie L. Stafford and husband, Bret; Joie L. Scott and husband, Jeff; Jeff Lilgendahl and wife, Jennifer, and Liam and Maggie Carey. Six great-grandchildren, and various nieces and nephews also survive.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Deborah Ann Lilgendahl; one sister, Betty Jane Luker; one brother, George Richard; and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Charles Emmett and Stanley Goodin Jeffries.
A private Celebration of Life service with family will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to High Country Health Care Systems Hospice at www.highcountry hospice.org or to Opposing Abuse with Services, Information & Shelter, Inc at www.oasisinc.org.
Austin & Barnes Funeral Home and Crematory is serving the Gummere family.

Harriet F. Johnson

Harriet F. Johnson, 79, of Ruskin passed away May 29, 2009. She was the wife of the late Robert L. Johnson.
Harriet is survivied by three daughters: Linda Howell (Robert) of New Jersey, Doris Foster of Ruskin, Edna Piatt (Butch) of Pennslvania; two sons: Randy and Robert Johnson of Ruskin; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and five great-great grandchildren.She is survived by a sister Hannah Kramer (Richard) of Pennsylvania and many nieces and nephews.
She will be missed and continually loved by her family, friends, and relatives.

William J. Kaiser
William J. Kaiser, 93 of Sun City Center, Fl. passed away on June 2, 2009. He retired as a purchasing agent after 30 years at Chrysler Trenton Engine Plant. William was a member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church and a US Army veteran having served in WWII. He was a member  of the security patrol in Sun City Center, Good Samaritan also Sun City Center and a volunteer fireman in South Rockwood, Michigan. He enjoyed wood working, coin collecting, collecting Indian artifacts, canoeing, and making jewelry.
 He is survived by his beloved wife of 69 years, Margaret Kaiser, 2 sons: James Kaiser(Shirley); Steven Kaiser(Mariela); 3 daughters: Linda O’Donnell(Tom), Penelope Little(Don) and Sue LaBo; 1 brother, David Kaiser; 17 grandchildren,  and 30 great grandchildren. Memorial contributions can be made to the Good Samaritan or the Security Patrol in Sun City Center in William’s memory.
Arrangements were under the direction of Lewers Funeral Home in Ruskin.

Allean M. Wood
Allean M. Wood, 101, of Sun City Center, passed away at Plaza West Nursing Center on May 24, 2009. She was born in Bonne Terre, Missouri. She is survived by one nephew, Richard Bradley. Arrangements were under the direction of Lewers Funeral Home in Ruskin.
