James H. Cruthis
James H. Cruthis, 74, of Sun City Center, passed away on April 19, 2009 in Sun City Center, FL
He is survived by his wife, Roselyn; son, Christopher Cruthis; daughter Jennifer (Michael) Sampey; 2 grandsons, Gregory Cruthis, Dustin Cooklin; and brother, David Cruthis. He was preceded in death by his twin brother, John.
He was a graduate of the University of Michigan and Xavier University; a member of the University of Michigan Alumni Club; Sun City Center Art Club; Manatee Art Center; Brandon League of Fine Arts; JPO Committee of the Community Association 2000-2003. He designed the Crafts Building, the addition to the Sawdust Engineers, Lawn Bowling Building and before moving to Sun City Center, he helped design the Detroit Pistons Arena, the Detroit Lions Stadium and the United States Tennis Association National Tennis Center in New York.
A memorial service was held and Sun City Center Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.


Maria S. Estrada
Maria S. Estrada, 45 of Wimauma, Fl. went to be with her Lord and Savior on April 16, 2009.
She was a member of the Vision G12 in Riverview.  She enjoyed cooking, fund raising for the church, and spending time with her sister, Cathy Calleja and her grandchildren, and eating out.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Agapita Carranza Estrada and Vicente Estrada, she is survived by sons: Sergio Munoz, Eduardo Estrada, Juan José Estrada, daughters, Rosa Velasquez, Guadalupe Munoz; brothers, Vicente Estrada Jr., Francisco Estrada, Artemio Estrada, Jose Luis Estrada; sister, Rosa Charles; 6 grandchildren, Ashley, Ury Jr. Mariah, Damon, Alexis, Jose Jr.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Tuesday, April 21, at Lewers Funeral Home in Ruskin; services will follow on Wednesday, April 22, 2009 at 10:00 am at Lewers Funeral Home.


Gary W. Flinn
Gary W. Flinn, 58, of Ruskin passed away suddenly Saturday, April 18, 2008.
Gary is a veteran of the Vietnam war. He is survived by his loving family and friends.
A memorial service will be held 1-5 p.m. Saturday, April 25, 2009, at Paradise Mobile Home Park Recreation Center, 2201 US Hwy 41 South, Ruskin 813-645-3635.
Arrangements were made by Zipperer’s Funeral Home in Ruskin.


Jimmie L. Ratcliff
Jimmie L. Ratcliff, 79 of Wimauma passed away April 10, 2009 in Sun City Center. Formerly of Kokomo, IN, he moved to Wimauma in 1981. Following his retirement from Delco Electronics after 34 years of service, he very much enjoyed working at Publix for over 9 years.
He is survived by his loving wife Ethel ”Patsy”; two sons Donald (Mari) and Greg (Jill) Ratcliff of Kokomo, IN.; a step-daughter, Kim (Steve) Williams of Ruskin; two step­sons Donald Holtz Jr. of Lexington, KY and Chris (Sherrie) Lee of Palm Harbor, FL.and several grandchildren and nieces and nephews .
He was preceded in death by his father Owen Russell Ratcliff and his mother Thelma Etherington and his brother Jack.
Final arrangements were under the direction of Zipperer’s Funeral Home in Ruskin. A memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family.    


Ruben Sarmiento
Ruben Sarmiento, 48, passed away  April 3, 2009 in Mease Countryside Hospital in Clearwater after a long illness. He was born in Texas and was a life long resident of Wimauma.
He is survived by his wife Lisa; four sisters, Yolanda Sarmiento of Ruskin, Raquel Arreadondo of Wimauma, Maria Sarmiento of Ruskin, and Blanca Amandor of Texas; five brothers, Lupe and Johnny of Palmetto, Raul of Wimauma, Frank of Sebring, and Jessie of Georgia; 37 nieces and nephews and several great-grand nieces and nephews.
He was deeply loved by his family and will be greatly missed.
Services were held on April 9, 2009 and he was laid to rest at the Ruskin Cemetery.

Joanne E. Foster Strauser
Joanne E. Foster Strauser moved on to her Lord on December 6, 2008. She will be dearly missed by her friends and family.
She is survived by her husband Clifford Strauser, her 4 children, John (Irene) Perry of South Carolina; Jody (Sue) Foster of Florida; Christine (Daniel) Harrell of Michigan; Carmel (Terry) Dumas of New York; stepdaughter Diane (Richard) Alvarez of Florida; Susan Smith of Georgia; and Janet Strauser of Florida. She is also survived by ten grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
There will be a memorial held in her honor in the little chapel at Gamble Mansion Memorial: 1400-36th Avenue East, Ellenton, Florida on April 25, 2009, at 2:00 p.m. All are welcome.
