Gerald D. Harder Gerald D. Harder entered into rest on December 9, 2009 at the John Haley V.A. Nursing Home in Tampa. He was in the Air Force and served in France. Gerald was survived by his wife Mildred; three children, Diane Wardwell, Jacque Baker, and Terrance; and six grandchildren. He will be missed by his loving family and many friends. Raymond W. Hopkins Raymond W. Hopkins, 91, of Sun City Center, FL, died on December 9, 2009, at Plaza West. He was preceded in death by his wife Muriel in 2003. He is survived by their 2 sons and 1 daughter, 6 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren. Memorial donations may be made to an Alzheimer’s disease organization, or charity of choice. Ruth P. Rosendall Ruth P. Rosendall, age 90 of Sarasota, Florida and formerly of Dwight, Illinois, passed away on December 21, 2009. She had been a resident of the Bay Area for over thirty years. She was a graduate of Illinois State University at Normal, Illinois where she was an accomplished gymnast and the first female member of the popular Gamma Phi Circus. Mrs. Rosendall was a Physical Education Teacher and Gymnastics Coach at Gardner, Illinois High School. She finished her teaching career in the Dwight Public Schools. Prior to moving to Sarasota, Mrs. Rosendall was a resident of Sun City Center, Florida where she was a member of the United Community Church, the Women’s Golf Association, Sun City Emergency Squad and the Retired Teachers Association. Mrs. Rosendall was an accomplished cook and took great joy in entertaining friends and family. She was a loving mother, grandmother and friend. Mrs. Rosendall was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, George Rosendall. She is survived by two sons, Dana Rosendall of Ellicott City, Maryland and Chris Rosendall of Ft. Wayne, Indiana; a daughter, Jane Paschke of Bradenton, Florida; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. In 1997 she married Herbert Boyer, a lifelong family friend, who also preceded her in death. A private family graveside service will be held at a later time in Dwight, Illinois.
Anita Schmidt Anita Schmidt, 46, loving mother and wife, passed away on December 24, 2009. She was born on June 18, 1963 in Travers City, MI. Making Apollo Beach her home in 1986, she worked for McRoberts Sales Co. Inc and was Secretary/Treasurer of the corporation. She is survived by her husband Jerry R. Schmidt; daughter Kayla; mother Yvonne Thayer; brother Tim Covert as well as many other family members and friends. A visitation was held on Wednesday December 30, 2009 from 5 to 8PM at National Cremation and Burial Society, 508 E.College Ave, Ruskin, FL Interment will take place in Michigan, “her heaven on Earth.” In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Kayla Schmidt Scholarship Fund, C/O Sun Trust Bank, Ruskin, FL. Marvelee Southers Williams Mrs. Marvelee Southers Williams, 81, of Lake Wales, Florida, died Tuesday, December 22, 2009, at her home. She was born November 24, 1928 in Van Wert, Ohio and moved to Lake Wales fifteen years ago from Apollo Beach, Florida, where she raised her family. She was a retired apartment complex manager and homemaker. She was of the Catholic faith. Survivors include her children Max Southers of St. Petersburg; Greg Southers of High Point, North Carolina; Kandi Long of Lake Wales, and Scott Southers of Athens, Alabama; twelve grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild. Her husbands Clyde Southers and Gene Williams, a grandson Matthew Southers, and a great granddaughter Saraya preceded her in death. Services will be private. Memorials of remembrance may be made to your favorite charity.
