Rena Mae Owens
Rena Mae Owens, 72, of Sun City Center passed away on October 1, 2009.
Rena M. Owens was born in Vergennse, Vermont to Luther and Jenavive Kimball on November 7, 1936. She attended St. Joseph Catholic School in Martinsburg, WV. She also attended James Rumsey Technical School for her nursing career as a LPN. She was married to the late Ernest F. Owens of Woodstock, VA. She worked for the V.A. Hospital in Martinsburg, WV, and Columbia, SC. She also worked at the Shenandoah Hospital, in Woodstock, Va.
She is survived by her children Diane Watson, from Lexington, SC; John Watson and wife Debbie from Jacksonville, FL.; Jeff Watson and wife Donna, from Cayce, SC.; and Mark Watson and wife Karen, from Riverview, FL. and her sister Dorothy Parrotte from Martinsburg, WV. She also has 12 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
Memorial service was held at 10:00, Monday, October 5, 2009 at the National Cremation and Burial Society, with Father Joel from the Prince of Peace Catholic Church.
Memorials may be given to Life Path Hospice or the Palm Gardens activity center in Sun City Center, FL. The family of Rena Owens wishes to thank Palm Gardens and Hospice staff for the great care that was given.
Marjorie Powell
Marjorie Powell of Sun City Center, Florida died Saturday, September 26, 2009.
She was married to The Reverend J. Kenneth Powell who preceded her in death. Her husband was pastor of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Missouri and Indianapolis, Indiana.
Mrs. Powell was a member of the Saint Andrew Presbyterian Church of Sun City Center at the time of her death. She also was a member of the P.E.O. Group of Sun City Center.
She is survived by her daughter, Mary Beth Powell of San Diego; her son, Dr. James K. Powell of Madison, Wisconsin; grandchildren, Seth, Onawa, Frieda, Rosalie Helen; and sister, Jane Davis of Holiday, Florida.
Memorial service will be held at the Saint Andrew Presbyterian Church of Sun City Center on October 17, 2009 at 6:00 P.M.
Burial will be in Indianapolis Indiana. National Cremation & Burial Society, Ruskin is handling the arrangements.
