Lena F. Estes
Lena F. Estes, 78, passed away July 4, 2008 in Port Townsend, WA.
She was born Sept. 25, 1929, to Frank and Truly (Gordon) Richardson in Mt. Vernon, IL.
On March 5, 1948, she married Harl E. Estes in Mt Vernon. The couple had two children, Gary and Nancy, and moved to Memphis, TN in 1959. Harl passed away May 6, 1976, and Lena continued living in Memphis until 2000, when she moved with Nancy and Nancy’s husband Dave Stevens to Sun City Center, FL. She moved to Port Townsend in Nov. 2006.
She was a bookkeeper and a homemaker. Her hobbies included crocheting and needlepoint, with which she made gifts of the heart by donating handmade items to various Florida charities.
She is survived by her daughter, Nancy Stevens of Manchester, TN, and her son, Gary of Chimacum, WA.
Polly Walker Huddleston
Polly Walker Huddleston, 77, long-time resident of White Bear Lake, MN, and Sun City Center, FL, passed away from respiratory failure on July 14, 2008 in Sun City Center.
She is survived by her two daughters, Sandra Huddleston Moseman of Edina, MN, and Lori Huddleston of Waygata, MN; and granddaughter Mollie Moseman Meldahl of Edina, MN.
Polly was born in Hopkinsville, KY on Aug. 3, 1930 and graduated from the University of Kentucky. Polly was a show dancer and performer in the annual White Bear Lion’s charity musicals.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Polly’s name can be made to the White Bear Lion’s eyesight program. A memorial service is planned for 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 30 at the First Presbyterian Church of White Bear, MN.
Clarence A. Morefield
Clarence A. Morefield, 78, passed away peacefully at home, Friday, July 18, 2008. His wife of 57 years, Ruth, was at his side. He was also survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Carla and Jerry Deakyne; a brother, Ray Morefield; as well as other beloved family.
Clarence was preceded in death by his son, Keith, and his parents. He was born in Dayton, OH; graduated from Bethel High School, Miami Co; was a graduate of GMI; and earned his MBA at the University of Dayton. He served four years in the USAF; was a buyer for General Motors and retired after 33 years of service; was a member of St. Andrew Presbyterian Church (the Lord Jesus was his Rock and his Refuge); the Sun City Center Emergency Squad; and was an avid golfer. Burial was at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell on July 23.
Memorial services will be held at the church at 10 a.m. on Thursday, July 31. Donations may be made to the SCC Emergency Squad, to Lifepath Hospice, to St. Andrew Presbyterian Church memorial fund, or other choice.
