I love messing about with boats. The adventure that lies just over the next wave is always intriguing. Being a sailor for the last thirty years (yikes, that’s a long time), I can never get enough. Last week’s photo of the fishing boats tied up at the Little Manatee Fish docks, also known to the old timers as Guthrie’s, located at 1510 River Drive in Ruskin is just such an interesting place. This week’s deadliest catch starts off with Juan Guerrero (paint manager extraordinaire), Michele Brennan Budd (mostly about the one that got away), Gabriel Trout (a bad day on the water is still better than any day at work), Dan Bergschneider (you are one of those young old timers I spoke about), Ryan and Harold Almand (good job again, are you sure you guys aren’t following me around?), Robert Ecklund and Sam Baldwin (just one more week of Christmas music, yea). We have an unsigned correct answer from a Verizon.net account. Jerry Alexander gets a mention for hooking a fish, but just didn’t quite get it in the boat (thanks for the kind words, have a safe holiday). I want to give special thanks to Wayne Stokes for pointing out the treasure hiding in plain sight (no fair guessing this week). The road with proper signage leads to higher education. Where in South Hillsborough is this and can you spot the glaring error? Send your guess to 210 Woodland Estates Avenue S.W., Ruskin, FL 33570 or email where@observernews.net. © Copyright 2008 by The Observer News Publications and M&M Printing |
