We have a winner. The first of two Great Gas Giveaway contests was a smashing success. In order to have your name tossed into the baseball cap (I don’t own any real hats) you must have guessed the last two weeks correctly. Last week’s photo of the Wimauma Air Park just off of Highway 674 in Wimauma was touch and go for some of you. With instructions from Sherman L. Smith of Sherman’s Flight Training I managed to avoid having an airplane land on my head. Thanks Sherman. Beverly Dail knows right where to land her plane as does Juanita Sehorne (I’m glad you enjoy it, I know I do), Michele Brennan (international might be a bit of a stretch), Patrick Kovacevic, and Gary Schumacher (this game knows no age). With ailerons in proper trim we have Andrew Butler, Kirk Faryniasz (spot on with the what and the where), Jack Miller, Sam Baldwin, Walter Hudson (sorry I didn’t get the tail number), Juan Guerrero, Harold and Ryan Almand, Cynthia Manion (it’s a big county, good fuel mileage is imperative) and James “FISH’’ Bass (“ding” round two). Making the contest deadline for the weather station from two weeks ago and also landing wheels down at the airport we have Jerry Alexander (when the rain stops turn the bucket over and have a seat) and Wayne Stokes. Aleen Goodwin and Robert O’Neill also get a point each for the weather station. And the winner is (pause for effect) Michele Brennan!!!!! Michele, you can pick up your gas card at the Observer News office, located at 210 Woodland Estates S.W. in Ruskin. Be sure to comb your hair, I think we will want to take your picture. The photo above starts contest number two. The same rules apply in this contest as in the first one. Guess this photo and next week’s photo correctly and I will do the rest. Be sure to send in your guess by 5:00p.m. on Tuesday August 12th What lies beneath this roof is essential to all, but where in South Hillsborough is this? Send your guess or chili recipe to 210 Woodland Estates Avenue S.W., Ruskin, FL 33570 or email where@observernews. net
