It was a very exciting Flag Football season for me.  We won the District Championship and received news coverage with The Observer News and two other newspapers, even a clip on TV Catch 47!  Recently I noticed we are ranked nationally, even worldwide!  There is a website dedicated to flag football called flagmag.com .  Check it out!  There is a link for Rankings Updated.  In order to view it you must register but the required information is not intrusive. Once you get to the site go to RANKINGS 2008.  Then go to High School.  There are high school teams from Florida and Alaska, even Canada and Israel.  That would make it worldwide, right?  That means EBHS Girls Flag Football is ranked #19 in the World!
To recognize the players this year the team voted on something a bit different.  The team chose to do a canoe trip down the Little Manatee River with a picnic along the way.  It was a blast but I knew trophies might get lost so they were awarded the day prior.  This is a team sport so I let the team vote for the awardees.  It is not a popularity contest.  Each individual plays an important role in the team’s success but the players vote for those who were exceptional.
