Colorfield Farms recently opened a retail outlet to complement its wholesale nursery. Shoppers unanimously agreed that “it’s about time,” as they had driven by looking longingly at the colorful plants growing in the field.
Bedding plants of every color and height, native plants, orchids, perennials, containerized gardens and herbs are plentiful. Citrus and tropical fruits offer an unusual selection.
Owner Anne Pidgeon retired from running the greenhouse operation at Busch Gardens to start a nursery to supply landscapers with top-notch plants. For three years customers at garden shows where Colorfield Farms participated, asked for directions to her nursery in Wimauma. The retail outlet is now open at 8221 S.R. 674, off I-75, eight miles east past Sun City Center. Call (813) 833-2545 or visit www.colorfieldfarms.com.
