Center For Sight Donates Free Cataract Surgery

On May 7, Center For Sight participated in Mission Cataract USA, donating free cataract surgery to those that are uninsured and can’t afford to pay for the surgery.

This year, Drs. William Lahners, Joshua Kim and William Soscia performed free cataract surgery on 22 patients.  Since Center For Sight is one of only three centers in Florida participating in Mission Cataract, patientscame from eight different cities across the state.

The center has been working in conjunction with this national charity for the past 11years and will continue their support for years to come.  Mission Cataract USA is a nationwide, non-profit program offering help to those who have cataracts but do not have Medicare, Medicaid, private health insurance or the financial resources.

A cataract is the clouding of the lens in the eye, causing blurred eyesight and gradual loss of vision.  About three million people in the U.S. undergo cataract surgery every year.  Cataract surgery is a simple, pain-free, no-stitch procedure.

How Do You Make Investment Decisions?
Investment decisions are 89% based on emotion. Only 20% of the population feels comfortable with higher levels of investment risk.

Whether it’s up or down, the market is always on the move. How will you react to changing market conditions and what effects could your actions have on your financial plan? Many people have questions about their investment strategy, yet they never find the time to get them answered.

Emotions, Expectations and Economics® will be presented by Bill Bishop and Thomas Payant at 4 p.m. on Wednesday May 21 at Payant Financial Plaza. Show them your colors and join them for a Patriotic Celebration.

RSVP: To attend, call Robyn at (813) 633-7333. Seating is limited. Respond by Monday, May 19.

They’ll discuss:

• How emotions affect investment decisions

• General market expectations for three types of investors

• Lessons from the last 75 years of U.S. economic history

• Investment tools and strategies to help fine-tune your financial plan
