On this premise, two South County promoters have launched what for the area is a “first,” an “everyone profits” economic development council aiming to harness the power of the internet to benefit the South Hillsborough region in a multi-faceted manner. Ruskin Seafood Festival promises diverse variety of food, entertainment

RUSKIN — The upcoming weekend’s ideal temperatures will be perfect to accompany Ruskin’s Annual Seafood Festival which is now in its 21st year. “Last year we had over 18,000 attendees and this year I am hoping for 20,000 over the course of the weekend,” said Melanie Morrison, Executive Director of the Ruskin Chamber of Commerce.

Local leaders going to drywall conference

RIVERVIEW — Five veterinarians and a full staff of technicians and office personnel volunteered their time and services Oct. 24 to be sure dog owners had the chance to have their pets checked out.
If annual vaccinations were due, they got them. They also got treated for a variety of medical ailments.

Big Bend at Lincoln Road slated for traffic signal

Hillsborough County doesn’t usually install traffic signals closer than 1/4-mile apart, but in some cases, where an intersection is considered especially dangerous, exceptions can be made.
When Publix built the first place to shop in the Summerfield Crossings area residents were glad they no longer had to drive to Riverview, Apollo Beach or Sun City Center to buy groceries.
