Jerold Milton, 81, of Sun City Center passed away Aug. 7, 2007 after a brief illness.
He was well known in the Sun City Center community as the president of the Sun City Center Area Chamber of Commerce, and as the president of several Community Associations in town; was an entrepreneur and a world traveler.
He is survived by a daughter, Tracey, of Lowell, Mass. His many friends and associates celebrated his life at a memorial service held Aug. 10 at Lewers Funeral Home, Ruskin.
Arrangements were under the direction of Lewers Funeral Home, Ruskin.
Mary Jean Smith
Mary Jean Smith of Balm, passed away Aug. 12, 2007.
She was an active military wife of a career soldier, who endured tours of duty all over the world.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Lela Grieble and three sons, Jerry Lin, Ronnie Allen and Terry Lee.
Survivors include her husband of 55 years, Sherman; three daughters, Linda Sadlo, Janet Yarnell both of Tucson, AZ, and Pamela Allen of Gibsonton; six grandchildren, Gina Green of Seattle, WA., Deana Lezcano of Denver, CO., Emily Arehart of Delaware, Ohio, David Ali II of Myrtle Beach, S.C., Kaitlyn and Bryson Allen of Gibsonton; a great-grandson, Jackson Green of Seattle and five sisters, Betty Jo Barnes and Patricia Thomas of Ohio; Nora Melton and Dorothy Balsiger of Tampa and Doris Fravel of Massachusetts; 2 brothers, Bill Grieble of Brandon and John Griebel of Brooksville.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 16 at Sun City Center Funeral Home, Sun City Center.
Burial will be in Fellowship Cemetery, Lithia.
Arrangements are under the direction of Sun City Center Funeral Home, Sun City Center.
Nedra A. Snyder
Nedra Ann Hackett Snyder, 66 of Sun City Center, passed away July 23, 2007.
Born in Vienna she shared time between homes at Land Harbor in Linville, N.C. and Sun City Center.
She loved tennis, art and St. Patrick’s Day. She was a devoted mother and friend with a wonderful sense of humor.
Survivors include her husband, Donald H.; her mother, Mary Elizabeth Hackett of Vienna; Mitch Stukey of Evansville, Ind., and Dave Stukey of Charlotte, N.C. a daughter, Anne Stukey of Atlanta; four grandchildren, Alex and Ashley Stukey of Evansville, Ind. and Nick and Buck Stukey of Charlotte; two sisters, Wilma Timmons of Orange City, and Myra Stephens of Sun City Center; a brother, Jim Hackett of Parkersburg; and a special “adopted” daughter, Kathy Thompson-Smith of Atlanta, Ga.
A memorial service was held July 27 at the Crossnore Presbyterain Church in Crossnore, N.C.
The family requests that memorial contributions may be made in her honor to The Paget Foundation, 120 Wall St., Suite 1602, New York, N.Y.10005-4001.
Arrangements were under the direc-tion of The Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home of Vienna.
Ellwood Gates Wingert
Ellwood Gates Wingert, 82, of Ruskin, formerly of Freeport and Oregon, Ill. passed away Aug. 6, 2007.
He was born in Kent, Ill.
He spent most of his life farming; an avid outdoors man and conservationist.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara; two daughters, Gail Anderson of Rolling Meadows, Ill and Beverly Wingert of West Palm Beach; two stepdaughters, Honnilore Kuhlmann of Hamilton, Ohio and Marci Schmid Melzer of Bradenton; 2 granddaughters, Lesen Schideman of Champaign, Ill, and Stacey Ayuthia of Mt. Horeb, Wis. two step-grandchildren, Megan and Ella Melzer of Bradenton; great-grandchildren, Luke, Katrina and Anneliese Schideman and Kaitlyn and Alexander Ayuthia; a brother, Thomas Wingert of Freeport, Ill.; and a sister, Marie Riley of Conway, AR.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother, Dale.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Calvery Evangelical Lutheran Church in Ruskin Saturday, Aug. 18. Visitation is at noon until service at 1 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions maybe made to Calvary Evangelical Lutheran Church, 5309 U.S. 41 N. in Apollo Beach or LifePath Hospice, Telecom Parkway, Suite 100, Temple Terrace, FL 33637.
