Where In South Hillsborough?
Where in South Hillsborough?

The Tampa Bay area has a pretty serious bead thing going on.  What started as quirky and occasionally prurient aspect of Gasparilla has spread to… well, just about everything.  Somewhere in the Observer News archives are photographs of big-name politicians, children, elderly people and less-than-bashful young women adorned in them.

Fortunately for us, then, a good supply of beads can always be found at the Pirates Treasure Cove on the corner of Kracker Avenue and U.S. 41 in Gibsonton.

Janet Odell (thanks for your note – and for your contribution to my paycheck!) recognized it as did Pam Chambers, Annette Twitty (tell your husband if I can go there, he can, too.  It’s actually a pretty cool place), Betty Tanner, someone apparently named Flamnred (a person of few words – but also the correct answer), Juanita Sehorne (I didn’t know about the birds) and Robin Greenwood (I hope you have a good week, too!).

This week we have a gigantic structure shown against a clear blue Florida sky.

Where in South Hillsborough is this?  Send your guess, the solution to all the world’s problems or just a humorous anecdote to 210 Woodland Estates Avenue, S.W., Ruskin, FL, 33570 or email where@observernews.net

And no, I won’t publish some of the above-mentioned bead bearers.  Sheesh!  This is a family newspaper!
