East Bay High School
The East Bay Indians made short work of the Bloomingdale High School Bulls winning 41-16 in Gibsonton.
The Indians had complete control for the first three quarters leading 32-0 at the start of the fourth. Bloomingdale came to life scoring two touchdowns as the fourth quarter began to wind down.
Also late in the fourth quarter Indians starting quarterback Brandon Zachery went down with what was reported to be a high ankle sprain. His status for Thursday’s game is in question.
Running back Billy McPhaul will likely stand in should Zachery be out of the game. "Billy McPhaul is a threat," said East Bay head coach Brian Thornton. "Every time he touches the ball he’s a threat. As quarterback, he touches the ball every time."
Against Bloomingdale McPhaul rushed for 160 yards and racked up two touchdowns.
On Thursday (note change in game day), the Indians travel to Plant City.
Riverview High School
The Lakeland Dreadnaughts apparently were looking for revenge for their first ever loss last week to Jenkins High School. The Dreadnaughts beat the Riverview Sharks 29-9 in Lakeland.
Sharks RB Cecil Coltrane rushed for nearly 140 yards and the Riverview defense bagged a pair of interceptions but the second half was all Lakeland with the Dreadnaughts scoring 15 unanswered points.
On Thursday (note change in game day), the Sharks will host Brandon High School.
