Flying in Aluminum Overcast Skies

By Mitch Traphagen
Part One of Two
OCALA, FL -
I tried to concentrate. I tried to put myself in the position of a young man who
was probably scared out of his wits, coming close to freezing to death and
worried about every little speck on the horizon. I tried to concentrate on that
young man in that position twenty years before my birth.
As hard as I tried, I could not mentally transform the blue
skies and puffy clouds over central Florida into a bleak winter night in the
skies over Nazi Germany. More

The Changing Face of South Hillsborough:
The rumors are flying about several big box retailers moving into
south county. The facts, however, are few. Yet one in every ten new
jobs created in the entire nation came from the Tampa-St.
Petersburg-Clearwater Metropolitan area. South county communities are
joining forces to become a strong player in that prospering market.
How will all of the changes effect our communities and area businesses
and what can south county shoppers expect from the future?
