SUN CITY CENTER - Bob Evans Farms, Inc. is currently looking to build one of their signature restaurants near I-75 and State Road 674 in Sun City Center.
"If everything goes as planned we will open up sometime next year," said Bob Evans spokesperson Ellen Griffith.
In the same general vicinity, the Denny’s Restaurant was recently remodeled and opened after being closed for several years.
Bob Evans Farms, Inc. owns and operates Bob Evans Restaurants in 22 states, primarily in the East North Central through Southern states of the U.S. The company also operates Owens Restaurants in Texas and is a producer of food items sold under the Bob Evans label. Fiscal 2003 company sales totaled more than $1.1 billion.
AAA To Open SCC Office
The American Automobile Association is currently in the planning stages of opening a new office in Sun City Center. The current plan calls for taking over the space in the liquor department of the former Walgreen’s store.
"We’re looking at a late October or early November opening," said David Miller of the Brandon AAA office. "We will not be full service initially - primarily travel services and insurance services, except for medical insurance."
According to Miller, the new office will house an on-site insurance agent and travel agent. Initially, attraction tickets, travelers checks, medical insurance and luggage sales will not be offered at the Sun City Center office but will be available at the Brandon office.
Legendary Journeys Travel Comes to SCC
Legendary Journeys Travel of Sarasota will soon be opening an office in Sun City Center according to Sarah Maguire of the Southshore Advisory Planning Committee.
The new office, located near Wal-Mart, will open Oct. 1 with a grand opening planned for Oct. 15.
According to Maguire, the office will focus specifically on tours, cruises and group package travel. She also stated that a 100 seat theater is planned for the location for travel promotional purposes.
Legendary Travel is considered to be one of the largest travel companies in the United States. The Sun City Center location will be the company’s fourth office.
