Remembering Heroes With Steel and Thunder

By Mitch Traphagen (mitch@observernews.net)

The estimates vary but between four and six thousand motorcycles took to the streets of Tampa on Sept. 11 to remember and honor the fallen heroes of that day two years ago. All traffic was stopped along the route to allow the 11 mile long stretch of motorcycles to pass through the city. Spectators lined the parade route waving flags and signs. The ride ended at the St. Pete Times Forum in Tampa with an outdoor concert. Twelve New York City fire fighters took part in the parade. One fire fighter said that he hoped that the fire fighters and police officers who were lost on 9/11 were looking down saying, "It looks like they didnít forget."
