Rain, Rain and More Rain
By Dale Morrow
Rain, Rain, Rain, I started to complain about it and then
realized, we really need it. Maybe not all at once, but we need the water table
to get back to normal. When I was a little boy, the summers always started with a
rainy season. We knew it was going to happen, so we learned to adapt. The air is
much fresher, the plants grow much better but people seem to drive worse. The
last one puzzles me. It seems logical to me, we should be more careful on wet
roads. I believe that a lot of drivers think this is a good time to test their
driving skills. With the added traffic the highways are dangerous enough, add
the slippery conditions and after 5 p.m. you have bedlam. I am happy to return to weather patterns from 30 years ago,
but this new traffic is a little frightening. The rain is enjoyable. It pleasures me to sit and watch it
fall and breathe in the freshness. So I am going to focus on that pleasure. The rain gives me a refreshing "View From The Road."
