Wimauma High School Class of 1957 Reunites

On May 24, members of the Wimauma High School class of 1957 gathered for a class reunion. Nineteen of the original 39 classmates attended the event held at the Ruskin Woman’s Club. Many brought their spouses and children to meet their old friends and classmates.

The class of 1957 is significant because they were the last class to graduate from Wimauma High School. From 1958 on all high school seniors who attended public high school graduated from East Bay High School.  More

Gerber Baby All Grown Up Now

Ann Turner Cook, known to millions around the world as the Gerber Baby, talked about her experience as a famous face and her life afterwards during the Issues and Ideas Program at Lake Towers in Sun City Center on June 9. The 1928 image of Turner as an infant has graced Gerber Baby food products for the past 75 years. Turner, who resides in Tampa, spent 26 years as a teacher and has just released her second mystery novel. Turner’s books, part of a planned series, are entitled Shadow over Cedar Key and Trace Their Shadows. They are available at www.iuniverse.com.
