South County Celebrates Easter in the Sunshine

SUN CITY CENTER - With a stop in Sun City Center on April 16, Congressman Adam Putnam has continued his tradition of holding town hall meetings with his District 12 constituents. RUSKIN - For a group of dedicated volunteers from Aston Gardens in Sun City Center, retirement can mean a lot of hard work. Every Monday morning a group from the retirement community loads hundreds of pounds of newspapers collected during the week into the large recycling bin at Ruskin Elementary School. The funds raised from the recycled paper helps pay for student field trips. More Mitch Traphagen Photo Finding a Bargain in Shark's Teeth
The Paleo Preserve at Camp Bayou in Ruskin held a fossil swap meet on April 19. Fossils, jewelry and various interesting artifacts were offered for sale. The proceeds of the event went towards educational programs at the Paleo Preserve. Pictured above, two young men search for the biggest shark's teeth.
