The high school senior clearly defined himself both on and off the field. During an early season game with Bloomingdale, Hines set a record with a 98 yard touchdown return on the opening kickoff. Off the field, he enrolled in a number of honors and advanced placement courses according to school counsellor Stephanie Arnold. "It's been great watching him over the years," said Sharks defensive coordinator Mike Hernandez. "He is a young man who excelled both academically and athletically. We are very proud of him." Hines plans to spend his summer before beginning college lifting weights and running to prepare for his future with the Division 1-AA Wagner Seahawks. Wagner College is a liberal arts school with 1,750 undergraduate and 400 graduate students. According to Walt Hameline, Director of Athletics, "At Wagner College, the student-athlete is encouraged to develop both academic and athletic abilities in an environment where the foremost goal is the successful completion of the College's academic requirements." | |
