By Mitch Traphagen RUSKIN - The worst thing that can happen to a parent is to outlive your child. It doesn't seem natural and the death of a child is difficult, if not impossible, to accept. For most parents, their hopes and dreams have come to life in their children. Ron and Sandy Knight are facing this impossible nightmare. In writing stories for the front page of the Observer News, the Sun City Center Observer News and
the Riverview Current, I have three objectives. For each story, each week, I try to hit at least one of those objectives.
The objectives are 1) to inform the readers, 2) to tell about a problem AND what they can do to help and/or 3)
to entertain the readers. Hitting one of those goals is important, it's great if I can hit more than one in a story.
This philosophy has also been the publisher's philosophy for the past several years.
