Chamber News & Views
Things are heating up at the Sun City Center Area Chamber of Commerce this June. Let me tell you how you can get in on the non-stop activity.
Kick off the month on June 5 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. with The Exchange EXTRA for members and non-members. The Exchange is our weekly networking group. But since it’s the first Wednesday of the month, we host a lunch and learn. This month, Board Member and Ambassador Cedrick Wilson from Service Master 24 Restore will prepare us for hurricane season. Bring your own lunch and plenty of business cards.
Our monthly Member Coffee on June 11 will be held at the Bulk Food Superstore right here in Sun City Center from 8 to 9 a.m. Stop by for breakfast and networking before you head off to work. Last time we were there, they had some of the best homemade muffins I have ever tasted. What I meant to say was, I can’t wait for all the networking.
Friday, June 14, from 6 to 9:30 p.m., put on your best western wear for the first ever Boots N Buckles at the chamber. The Front Porch Pickers will get everyone up and dancing. Plus, you’ll enjoy great food from BubbaQue’s and games that could win you some prizes to take home. RSVP today – space is limited. Tickets are $30 per person or two tickets for $55. You do not have to be a member to join us.
Then, our monthly lunch is on Thursday, June 20, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the chamber. The sponsor is TECO and food will be provided by Fred’s Market. Join us for networking and some of Fred’s awesome cobbler. Members and non-members who have sent in an RVSP are welcome.
Then on June 27 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., Business After Hours takes a road trip. Members may join us at the Salty Shamrock in Apollo Beach for some drinks and appetizers before you head home.
And, finally, the chamber will be attending the Warrior Games on June 28 at the Convention Center. We’ll be attending the Wheelchair Basketball finals in this paralympic-style competition to cheer on our veterans as they compete.
Suncoast Community Health Center is renting a bus to provide transportation downtown for chamber members. This competition runs from 3 to 8 p.m. The bus will leave the chamber at 2 p.m. and return after the 8 p.m. finish. We want to fill that bus! We will take the first 56 members who call into the chamber to RSVP. Thanks to Suncoast Community Health Center and the chamber’s Military & Veterans Affairs Committee for this exciting opportunity. A $20 donation to the chamber is requested from all participants.
Join us this June, it’s going to be a wild ride!
