New K-8 charter school opening in Riverview

One more charter school is planning to open in the South Shore area of Hillsborough County.
Earlier in March, Sports, Leadership and Management Academy announced a new K-8 charter school on U.S. 41 for Apollo Beach opening next fall. Now, another new charter school is on the way, this one for Riverview next fall.
Charter School Associates (CSA) said its twelfth public charter school will open its doors in Hillsborough County. Riverview Academy of Math & Science (RAMS) will open with grades kindergarten through seventh and will add eighth grade in the 2019-2020 school year. Riverview Academy of Math & Science is currently accepting applications for enrollment and employment.

The 60,000-square-foot school and 10,000-square-foot gymnasium will be situated on 16 acres at 9906 Symmes Road, Riverview. It will include classrooms and will have a music room, soccer field, labs, etc. Students attending RAMS will have an opportunity to learn with a Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math (STEAM)-based curriculum, a Galileo Middle School Program, Global Studies and Cambridge Advanced Studies.
