Chamber News & Views:
Let’s have some fun!
We’re going to talk golf again. Yep. The Chamber’s 9th annual Chamber Cup Classic is coming up Saturday, March 23, at Sandpiper Golf Club. That’s just 17 days away. If you’ve not signed your foursome up yet, haven’t purchased your golf balls for the ball drop or gotten your tickets to enter in the Chest of Cheer raffle, why are you waiting?
Just a word to you golfers out there. If all your friends are busy that day — or you just don’t have any — we can hook you up with another group looking just for you to join them.
And then there’s the Bryan Hindman Electric Ball Drop. There are 600 golf balls in my office just waiting for you to select some of them for your own: 3 for $10, 8 for $20, and the always popular 25 for $50. The golf ball dropped from the cherry picker that lands closest to the pin wins half of the action-packed 50/50 jackpot. Now that Chris Guiley from A+ Hearing Center is helping us with sales, golf balls are just flying outta here. So don’t wait too long.
Have you heard about our infamous Chest of Cheer? Stop by my office. It’s a cooler stocked with every type of alcohol. And it needs a place to call home. If you or your entire neighborhood plan on partying your way through 2019, you need to get in on those tickets — 1 for $10 or 3 for $20. Drop in at the chamber and stare in amazement and, of course, buy some tickets.
So why should you participate in our tournament rather than any other? Well, let me tell you. First of all, we are a fun group. I’ve looked at the list of golfers — and at the list of volunteers. Secondly, we have good news for the golfers. Every single golfer walks away with a prize. Even if you stink, we want you to go home with a prize. Kind of like the kids’ participation trophies. And of course, there will be additional opportunities to buy tickets for some great raffle prizes and also the chance to buy your Mulligans.
If food is important to you, then you’re in luck. Mike at the Sandpiper Grille is putting together breakfast and lunch for the group. No prepackaged Danish and juice boxes in this golf classic. And you will get the chance to win a car from Ed Morse Cadillac Brandon if you can make that ever-elusive hole in one.
Winners go home with the coveted blue jackets, the very large trophy and prizes.
So come on out and join in on the fun. Just come to the chamber and we’ll get you signed up for the 9th annual Chamber Cup Classic Saturday, March 23, starting at 7 a.m. at Sandpiper Golf Club, sponsored by Gabriel Mbulo, Edward Jones Investments, Sunshine Auto Shield, CCJ Tax, A+ Heating and Air Conditioning, Palm Garden, WellMed and The Retired Officers’ Corporation at Freedom Plaza.
