Jennie Graham Broemer
Suddenly on December 31, 2018, Jennie Graham Broemer passed away. She was beloved wife to Alvin Broemer for 25 years. Jennie was the loving and cherished mother of Deborah Ward (Ron), David Miller (Susan), Lori Gordon (Tom), Randy Miller (Michele), Angela Rectenwaldt (Jon); Grandmom of Ryan, Christopher, Nicole, Sara, Danielle, Brandon, Devin, Kaylee, Maranda and eight great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her stepchildren Shaun Fischer, April Bradley (Jason) and Stuart Fischer; siblings Jay Graham (Aggie), William Graham (Joann), Nora Sharpe (Jack), Kim Graham (Tammy), Byron Graham, and Eddie Graham (Shelia). Jennie was preceded in death by her parents William and Beatrice Graham, her brother Michael Graham and sister Pennie Sharpe.
A Celebration of Jennie’s Life will be held on Saturday, April 6, 2019, in Michigan. The time and place are still to be determined. In lieu of flowers, donation in Jennie’s honor may be directed to local pet charities. Arrangements by Sun City Center Funeral Home 813-634-9900.
G.R. Butler
On January 2, 2019, G.R. Butler passed away at the age of 74. He was the beloved husband of Linda Butler; loving father of Megan Cassidy (Kevin) and Brett Butler (Christine); cherished grandfather of Victoria (2) and Blake Cassidy (9 mos.), and Avett Butler (4 mos.).
Mr. Butler retired from the United States Army in 1989 with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. He continued to work for contractors of the Department of Defense for the next 20 years. Mr. Butler was most proud of his accomplished Military Service where he was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross, his loving grandchildren and beating his age on the golf course by shooting a 68 at the age of 72.
Susan L. Greigg
On December 29, 2018, Susan Lorraine Greigg passed away. She was the loving mother of Tina Suppi; cherished “Grammy” of Riley Sowell and Regan Sowell. Susan is also survived by her stepson Robert D. Touzeau and her siblings Sandra Greigg Dunson and Kenneth Greigg.
A Memorial Gathering will be held on Saturday, January 26, 2019, from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Sun City Center Funeral Home. Mary VanWyck Patch
Mary VanWyck Patch, 93, passed away November 23, 2018, at South Bay Hospital in Sun City Center, Fla.
Memorial services will be held at South Shore United Church of Christ, 1501 La Jolla Ave., Sun City Center, Fla., Saturday, Jan. 12, at 11 a.m.
Arthur L. Shirley Jr.
On January 4, 2019, Arthur L. Shirley Jr. passed away at his home in Sun City Center with his wife of 52 years Elsie, by his side. Art was born March 21, 1927, in North Adams, Massachusetts to Arthur L. Shirley Sr. and Catherine Muldowney Shirley. He served from 1944 to 1946 in the United States Navy as an Aviation Radioman.
Art was a graduate of Boston University. He retired as the National Sales Manager of the Chemical Coatings Division of Mobil Oil and continued as a consultant for Valspar Corp. for many years. Art was a dedicated member of the Elk’s and Moose lodges in Illinois. Along with his wife Elsie, Art leaves behind his daughter Cheryl Lynn Deavers (Douglas), grandchildren Megan Kennedy (Ryan) and Matthew Deavers, and great-grandsons Michael and Mason Kennedy.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory can be made to the Wounded Warriors Project. A Memorial Service celebrating Art’s life will be held at a later date.
