Grow your business
There are many ways to grow your business. I’m sure you know what works best for yours. Whatever you’re doing that works, keep it up. And joining the chamber was one of those good ideas you had. But here at the chamber, we want to offer additional ways to help you out as part of your membership.
On Oct. 4, the chamber is hosting its annual Fall Business Expo at the Community Hall, 1910 S. Pebble Beach Blvd., from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. If you’ve never participated, here’s what you need to know: Local member businesses rent table space and bring whatever collateral they normally use – cards, brochures, one-sheets, fliers, signage or monogrammed tablecloths. When the doors open at 9 a.m., residents flood in. You get to talk to them one-on-one as they wander around the center. It’s like you’re cold calling on steroids. We’re bringing potential business prospects right to your table. A bonus.
One piece of advice if you’re never attended, residents and chamber members alike love free stuff. You need to bring candy, cookies, pens, note pads – anything edible or with your logo on it. Just don’t try to compete with the delicious brownies from Sun Towers. Debbie Caneen has been supplying them at every expo since the beginning of time, and they are legendary.
But table space is going quickly. If you are interested in attending, give me a call at the chamber (813-634-5111) as soon as you can to reserve your space.
Then, how would you like to attend a free seminar to help grow your business? We thought you would like that. On Friday, Oct. 12, from 10 to 11 a.m. at the chamber, member businesses are invited to attend a seminar on how to write your business plan. Whether you own your own business or work for a larger company, you know that every business needs a plan. It’s the guide for your business that outlines goals, and is your road map for detailing how you plan to achieve those goals. We’re partnering with SCORE to get you on track. SCORE is a nonprofit association dedicated to helping small businesses get off the ground, grow and achieve their goals through education and mentorship. SCORE has helped over 10 million people start or grow small businesses since 1964. Call the chamber to reserve your seat. And I did mention it was free, didn’t I?
