Daniel W. Hulik
Daniel W. Hulik passed away on August 25, 2018, at the age of 83, bravely battling cancer while staying at Plaza West Nursing Facility in Sun City Center, Fla.
He was born in Bayonne, N.J. on February 21, 1935, to parents William Hulik and Marion Porada. He married Jane Gilman, the absolute love of his life for 61 years, in 1956. They moved to Skilman, N.J. where he was a laboratory supervisor for the New Jersey Neuropsychiatric Institute for 42 years. They retired to Sun City Center, Fla. from Lawrenceville, N.J. in 2000 to avoid the snow and enjoy the sunshine.
His hobbies included crabbing and fishing with his son, miniature boat building, stamp and coin collecting carrying on his father’s collection, poker and bingo nights with friends, and garage sale shopping for treasures on his golf cart. But his favorite hobby was telling bad jokes to make everyone laugh or possibly groan. He made the world a better place with his big hugs and his sense of humor.
He is survived by his dear wife Jane; his daughter Diana Drier (Hulik); his grandchildren Nathaniel and Gillian; his great-grandchild Ruthie; his son Daniel W. Hulik Jr.; his daughter-in-law Maureen; his sister-in-law Kather Blewitt and her husband Denis. In addition he leaves behind his wonderful circle of friends who gathered for coffee every morning at the Freedom Plaza Grille.
A memorial service will be held at a later date at Freedom Plaza in Sun City Center, Fla.
