It really does take a village. Kudos to all those who sponsored and provided the manpower for organizing this year’s Cabaret fundraiser—and to all those who attended. This was the second year the Sun City Center Charitable Foundation and the Faith Community pooled their resources to present a fun-filled afternoon with entertainment by an impressive lineup of talent and door prizes from local businesses and clubs.
“My congratulations to Faith Community for their very successful annual fundraising that benefits many needy customers of our local pantries. The SCC Charitable Foundation is delighted to partner with them in this community-giving project. Thanks to the Faith Community organizers, this was a happy day for everyone involved,” said Foundation President Walt Cawein. Four pantries received their share of the Cabaret proceeds ($1,100 each).
On hand to give and receive checks were: Dallas Tuthill, foundation director; Pastor William Cruz, Lord’s Lighthouse; Tom Bullaro, Our Lady of Guadalupe; Barbara Gaines, foundation director; George Martin, foundation treasurer; James and Ona Taranowski, Calvary’s Angel Attic. The Beth El Food Pantry representative was unable to attend.
Faith Community congregations who secured the foundation sponsorship and handled the planning details were Jane Keegan, United Methodist Church of SCC; Joanne Sudman, Beth Israel Jewish Congregation; Paula Lickfeldt, SouthShore United Church of Christ; Liz Hood, St. John the Divine Episcopal Church and Diane Blenke, Prince of Peace Catholic Church.
