Harlem Wizards return to challenge Hoopstars
The Harlem Wizards are returning to Lennard High School in Ruskin Saturday, Jan. 14, to take on the Hoopstars.
The exhibition basketball game is a fundraiser for the Lennard Athletic Booster Club and pits the high-flying skills of the Harlem Wizards against the average basketball skills of Lennard High School teachers, coaches and staff — better known as the Hoopstars.
The comedy, audience participation and spontaneity delivers a world-class show in an intimate, community setting.
The Wizards are interactive and will leave you laughing and fully entertained. Their fundraising events have crisscrossed the U.S. with more than 450 events last year, raising more than $2.5 million for schools and charities.
There will be time after the game for autographs and prior to game with a special ticket purchase. There will also be souvenirs and refreshments for sale.
Tickets may be purchased online at HarlemWizards.com. Advance tickets are $10 for general admission and $8 for students. At the door tickets are $12 each.
There is also a $20 option, which reserves a seat near the court, plus you’ll get a team poster.
For $30 you will get reserved courtside seating, a pre-game meet-and-greet with the players, souvenir lanyard, team poster and a $15 discount on a Wizards’ replica jersey.
Game time is 6 p.m. and doors open at 5:15 p.m. in the Lennard High School gymnasium, 2342 Shell Point Rd. E., Ruskin. For more information, e-mail slgbarton@yahoo.com, or sophiamckenzie2002@yahoo.com.
