Gilbert E. Anderson
Gilbert E. Anderson “Gib,” 95, of Sun City Center, Fla., passed away on November 25, 2016. He was born in Caribou, Maine, July 27, 1921. He was a veteran of World War II and became a weatherman for 30 years with the U.S. Government.
In retirement he sailed and played golf. He was an active member of the Anah Temple and the Masons.
Gib was predeceased by his wife Elme Shaw Anderson in 2003, and his son Kristofer Anderson of Naples, Fla., in 2015. He is survived by daughters Jo Ellen Lowell of Florida. and Janice Irene Anderson of Alaska, three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Private family arrangements have been made.
Edward J. English
Edward J. English, 85, former long-time Sun City Center (Kings Point) resident, passed away in Aurora, Ohio on November 24, after a long illness.
Born and raised in Manhattan, he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps and was a combat veteran of the Korean Conflict. He spent his entire career as a sales executive with Rubbermaid Incorporated, retiring in 1990. During his retirement he lived in Naples before moving to Sun City Center in 1992 where he was a volunteer EMT on the SCC Emergency Squad for many years.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 60 years Mary (O’Keefe) and seven children, Edward (Marianne), Ellen Dolan (Jeffrey), Kevin (Katie), John (Barbara), Christopher (Jennifer), James (Laura) and Robert (Erica). He leaves behind his loving grandchildren Caitlin, Meghan, Sean, Brian, Rebecca, Colin, Sara, Erin, Lucy and Aidan.
A funeral mass will be held at St. Helen Roman Catholic Church in Westfield, N.J. on Saturday, December 3, at 10:30 a.m. Interment to follow at St. Gertrude Cemetery in Colonia, N.J. with military honor guard.

Judith R. Joyner
Dr. Judith (Judy) Rebecca Joyner, 96, passed away Sept. 13, 2016. She was a native of Yonges Island, S.C., was adventurous, had a wonderful sense of humor and devoted to education and the welfare of animals.
A self-proclaimed cutup in grade school, Judy attended Berry College then earned B.S. and M.A. degrees from Appalachian State University in Boone, N.C. and a Ph.D. from University of South Carolina.
Judy spent eight years in the American National Red Cross Overseas Service in Holland and Germany, assigned to the Show Mobile Unit that entertained U.S. troops. During that time she worked in a civilian capacity for the U.S. Army. She was also an instructor at University of Heidelberg, traveled extensively, skied in the Swiss Alps and witnessed the Nuremburg Tribunals from the Visitors’ Gallery.
In 1954 Judy enlisted in the U.S. Army as First Lieutenant, assigned as personnel officer in Alabama and New York. Returning to South Carolina in 1956, she earned a Doctor of Philosophy Degree from USC, then accepted a professorship in their Graduate School of Education.
Retiring Professor Emeritus in 1983, she made Sun City Center, Fla., her home. Judy played tennis with gusto into her early 90s and drove Pooch, her spunky Dachshund, around town in her golf cart.
After 31 years in sunny Florida, she and her calico cat Pansy moved to Suwanee, Ga. to be near family. She continued to entertain us with her funny faces and witty remarks. Judith Joyner will always be our hero, and she will be greatly missed.
She is survived by nephews William Joyner of Orlando, Fla. and Robert Joyner of Hollywood, Fla., niece Jean Joyner Sias and husband John Sias of Sugar Hill, Ga., great nephews Justin Sias and wife Holly Lang of New York, N.Y. and Jeremy Sias and wife Angela Sias of San Jose, Calif., great-niece Jessica Sias Wilson and husband Simon Wilson of York, England, and great-great nieces Isabelle Peach Sias, Violet-Evie Wilson and Vienna Rose Wilson.

Sharon Meneley-Crabb
Sharon Meneley-Crabb, 68, of Apollo Beach, Fla., formerly of Tuscola, Ill. passed away Nov. 25, 2016 in Tampa. Sharon was born Jan. 5, 1948 in Tuscola, Ill., to Sherman and Emily Marsh.
Sharon is survived by her husband Dr. Gerald Crabb, Sr. and three children, Chris (Azalea) Meneley of Denver, Colo.; Kari (Bob) Bryant of Warrensburg, Mo.; and Augie Meneley of Philo, Ill. Also two step-sons Jerry II (Susie) Crabb of Lakeland, Fla. and Geoffory Crabb-Wright of Cocoa, Fla. Ten grandchildren: Sarah, Savannah, Beau, Logan, Bella, Jerry III, Jacie, Katie, Freddy and Breanne.
Sharon was preceded in death by her daughter Cami Joy Meneley.
Services will be held Sunday Dec. 4, at 5 p.m. with the viewing at 4:30 p.m., at the First Baptist Church of Ruskin, 820 W. College Ave. in Ruskin. Dr. Barry Rumsey, Senior Pastor will be officiating.

Roland Webb
Roland Webb, born January 4, 1922 in Lincoln Kan., passed away on November 12, 2016. He is survived by his wife Lynn, his son Mark Webb, daughters Pat Baranski, Kim Strong, Lisa Zwilling and three grandchildren.
Roland attended the Chicago Conservatory of Music and The Naval Aviation Cadet Training Program and was a Boy Scout leader. He was a successful independent State Farm agent in Chicago. He devoted many years of service as a trustee, deacon and board member with South Church Community Baptist in Mt. Prospect, Ill. When he retired, he was a First Responder and worked with the Rescue Squad and Fire Department in Peel, Ark. He was an accomplished musician and vocalist, and he directed the church choir in Chicago and Yellville, Ark.
Roland was a “bigger than life” role model of integrity and generosity. His family and friends will miss him, his sense of humor, his caring heart and his love of life.
Roland Webb’s memorial service is December 7, 10 a.m. at Freedom Plaza Auditorium, 4th floor, 1010 American Eagle Blvd., Sun City Center, FL 33573.
