On Thursday, April 28, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Sun Towers Retirement Community will host a kick off for 2016 Give Day Tampa Bay.
Give Day is officially Tuesday, May 3, but the Sun Towers pre-event will give local residents a chance to make a personal connection to deserving nonprofit organizations.
Among the nonprofits that will be at Sun Towers are AMIKids; NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness); the Mary & Martha House; C.A.R.E.; the Sun City Center Emergency Squad; the Blue Heart Campaign; the Firehouse Cultural Center; the Senior Connection Center; and RCDF (Ruskin Community Development Foundation).
In just 24 hours last year, the area-wide Give Day Tampa Bay brought in almost $1.75 million for 550 nonprofit organizations.
The online giving challenge, presented by the Community Foundation of Tampa Bay, showcases local nonprofits and makes giving easy for first-time donors and long-time supporters.
