Maryellen Barrett
Maryellen Barrett (Schoenstein) of Akron, Ohio, and Sun City Center, Fla., left this life on April 1, 2016, to meet and see the face of God and to be reunited with her loved ones, most especially “her Jim,” whom she loved deeply and was married to for nearly 60 years; siblings Bill, Jerry, Kate (Moore) and Peggy (Gittens); and parents Walter and Dorothy.
She leaves her beloved siblings Bob and Judy (Stilwell); children Cathleen Barrett (David Richards), Patrick Barrett (Nyla), Beth Barrett, Julie Barrett and Mariann Barrett (Kevin Foote); grandchildren Jason and Joe Barrett, Forist and Michael Sylvester, Sara Brown, Julian Goldthwaite, Aaron, Daniel, Simon and Elisa Foote; as well as nine great-grandchildren.
Maryellen wrote, “I have enjoyed my life and have loved and been loved by many. I have enjoyed my walk with the Lord, and He has always been with me, yes, even through the rough times. As I say goodbye for now dear family and friends, I leave you with a bit of advice – love, care and be good to each other; trust our dear Lord to lead you one day at a time and I will see you soon!”
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 7, at Community of Christ Church (834 Grant St., Akron, OH 44311). Private interment will take place later at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Community of Christ Recovery Homes.

Michael R. Flynn
Michael R. Flynn, 63 of Sun City Center, Fla., went home to be with his Lord on April 2, 2016.
He is survived by his wife Jacqueline L. Flynn; sons Michael Flynn and Brian Flynn; grandchildren Chase Flynn and Michael Flynn; and brother John Flynn.
Formerly from Lindenwold, N.J., he was a track star and state champion in high school; he served his country in the U.S. Army Reserves; he coached Little League; and was an avid fisherman since childhood.
He loved all of God’s creatures and was known to stop the car to assist turtles to get across the street safely.
Mike always had a joke to tell or a funny comment, even for strangers. Mike was a loving husband and a caring father and all his family dearly loved him. Mike — we will always love and miss you!

Francis Kolling
Francis Kolling of Warminster, Pa., and Sun City Center, Fla., born Feb. 1, 1942, died March 14, 2016 in Sun City Center.
He was the son of the late Katherine and Joseph Kolling and grew up in the Fox Chase section of Philadelphia. He was predeceased by a brother, Joseph. He owned Valley Billiards Club for over 30 years.
He was the husband of Lynda Kolling (Matthews); beloved father of Jill Hunt (Jeffrey) and Kevin Kolling (Joanne); and loving Fran-pop to Logan Hunt, Peyton Hunt and Kelly Kolling.
Fran enjoyed attending his grandkids’ activities and Florida living. A celebration of Fran’s life will be in Pennsylvania.
John Persinger
John Persinger, 79, of Sun City Center, Fla., went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 29, 2016. He is survived by his wife Myrna of Sun City Center; daughter Catherine Rockwell (Russell); two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
John served in the health services industry, working as an accountant in hospitals in the Baltimore area where they formerly lived.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
John was an active member of Destiny Church; a former member of Gideons International; a member of the SCC Men’s Club; and a teacher in the local women’s prison ministry.
Memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m. on April 9, 2016, at Destiny Church, 2322 11th Ave. S.E. in Ruskin. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Hospice House, Ruskin, Florida.
