Richard Brown Billings
Richard Brown “Dick” Billings, 86, passed away February 21 following open-heart surgery. Dick will be remembered as a kind and caring man, a loving husband and a devoted father, and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Dick was born in Mexico City, son of an American attorney, on September 26, 1929. The family returned to the United States, settling in Scarsdale, N.Y., in 1939. Dick attended Admiral Farragut Academy before entering Hampden Sydney College, where he was a member of the Kappa Alpha fraternity.
He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1953 to 1957, leaving as a First Lieutenant. While in college, Dick met Billie Marie Wood, and they were married in 1954. After the Air Force, Dick settled in Euclid, Ohio, where he worked for TRW. His three sons were born there. In 1967, the family moved to Fort Lauderdale, where they remained until retirement in 1995, when Billie and Dick moved to Sun City Center.
Dick always put his family first, and was active as a Scout leader with his sons. He enjoyed woodworking, do-it-yourself projects and gardening, but his first love, besides family, was model railroading.
Dick leaves his wife of 61 years, Billie Marie; sons Brad (Ramona), Jeff (Robin) and William “Bill” (Deanna); and grandsons Greg and Robert behind with cherished memories.

Leslie E. Cherbonneaux
Leslie E. Cherbonneaux, age 64, of Ruskin, Fla., passed away on Tuesday, February 23, 2015.
Services were held last Sunday at Anderson McQueen Family Tribute Center in St. Petersburg.Burial followed the ceremony at Memorial Park Cemetery.
Leslie was born on January 19, 1952, in St. Petersburg. She worked in the banking industry for 25 years in Manatee County. After retiring, she became a Certified Nursing Assistant and provided professional care to seniors in Sun City Center.
Leslie is survived by her father, Maxwell J. Cherbonneaux Jr.; brother A.J. Max Cherbonneaux; daughter Adrienne (Greene) Frances; grandchildren Ray Anne Youngblood, Laura Sanner, Emily Sanner, Shannon Frances and Anne Frances; nephew Maxwell J. Cherbonneaux III; and many other family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Elizabeth June Cherbonneaux.

H. Haines Fenimore
H. Haines Fenimore of Sun City Center, Fla., and former longtime resident of Moorestown, N.J., passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 24, 2016, after a long struggle with Parkinson’s disease.
Haines was the son of the late Elizabeth Neal and H. Haines Fenimore. He was born in Collingswood, N.J., on April 7, 1928. After Haines graduated from Moorestown High School, he joined the U.S. Army. He served honorably in the Occupational Forces in Germany and Japan. He received the World War II Victory Medal and the Army of Occupation Medal-Japan. After graduating from Gettysburg College, he worked for RCA in Moorestown. Haines was an avid birder who traveled the world to see various species of birds.
Haines is survived by his beloved wife, Ann; children Roger, Donald (Cele), and Patricia; sister Marjorie; stepchildren Ric (YokeHa), Nancy, Susan (Tom), Richard, Beth and David (Laura); grandchildren Amie (Kelly), Ryan, Patrick, Melanie and Lauren; nieces Katharine, Robin and Carolynn. Haines was preceded in death by his son, Richard (Debbie).
Memorial services will be held on Monday, April 25, 2016. at 11 a.m. at Sarasota National Cemetery.

Jack Harrison
Retired Army Major Jack Harrison passed away February 20, 2016. He was an ex-POW in World War II and a B-17 pilot. He served 30 years in the U.S. Army, and retired as a Major. He achieved two Ph.D.s, was a flight instructor, schoolteacher and minister. He is survived by son Dennis Harrison and daughter Debrah Hailey.
Jack’s memorial service will at 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 4, at Faith Worx Church, 202 Flamingo Drive in Apollo Beach.
The service will be followed by a military graveside ceremony at 1:30 p.m. at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell.
Beatrice P. Landry
Beatrice P. Landry, 94, of Sun City Center, Fla., passed away August 13, 2015.
She was a cherished wife, mother, grandmother to 17 and great-grandmother to 16.
She will be missed by her family and friends. Her loving family includes her children Maurice, Irene, Albert, Jacque, Thomas, Jean and Jerry; and son-in-law Kenneth Sturgill.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Gerard Leo Landry, daughter Constance Landry Sturgill and granddaughter Rebecca Landry.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. March 21, 2016, at Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Sun City Center, with interment at Sarasota National Cemetery in Sarasota, Fla.
Paul B. Maasen
Paul B. Maasen, a resident of Sun City Center, Fla., and Wentzville, Mo., died at his Missouri home Friday, February 19, 2016, following a lengthy illness.
Paul was the owner of KC Industries, LLC (KCI), a specialty chemical manufacturer and distributor, and KC Industries Trucking, LLC (KCIT), specializing in the transportation of bulk liquid chemicals. Both companies are headquartered in Mulberry, Fla. Paul worked in the chemical business his entire career and from the Mulberry location for the past 37 years. He specialized in the manufacture, distribution, sales and marketing of chemicals for the potable water fluoridation industry.
Paul received a BS in Engineering Science from Rockhurst University in Kansas City, completed required course work for an MS in Chemical Engineering at the University of Missouri, Columbia, and received an MBA from Case Western University in Cleveland, Ohio.
Paul was a lifelong spiritual seeker and human rights advocate. He believed all people, regardless of color or creed, deserved to be treated with dignity and respect. As an entrepreneur, he was a man of integrity and was dedicated to his employees and their families. Among his many interests, Paul enjoyed the great outdoors, travel, reading, tinkering in his workshop and cooking (“chemistry in the kitchen,” he always said.) .
A celebration of Paul’s life will be held Saturday, March 19, 2016, at the Pitman Funeral Home Reception Center (visit http://pitmanfuneralhome.com/ for details and directions) in Wentzville, Mo., from 3 to 7 p.m.

Mary L. Mattei
Mary L. Mattei, aged 95, lately of Roslindale, Mass., and Sun City Center, Fla., died February 20, 2016, surrounded by her loving family.
She is survived by her children, Anna, Guido (Eileen), Isa, Karina, Mary, Robert (Lisa), and Laura (Lamar); grandchildren Zachary, Joshua and Serafine Mattei-Lownes, and Alyssa Mattei; sister Mae Passarelle (Ralph); and nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by her husband, Guido, and her son, Arthur.
Everyone who crossed Mary’s path realized she was special woman. One left her company feeling cared about. This is her most enduring legacy. Mary enjoyed life fully at Sun City Center. She and her beloved Guido traveled the country for 20 years in an RV, visiting friends and relatives en route. Mary lived by simple aphorisms: “One day at a time” and “You can only do what you can do.” We will honor her memory by adopting her wise words.
A funeral mass was held last Saturday at the Holy Name Parish in West Roxbury, Mass.

Richard A. Sayers
Richard A. Sayers, 90, of Sun City Center, Fla., passed away peacefully at Palm Garden on February 16, 2016.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Arnold and Hazel, and twin brother William.
Richard is survived by Mary K., his wife of 69 years; daughter Kathy Postle (John); and sons Richard ‘Rick’ A. II (Barb) and Randall. He also leaves behind six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Richard was born in South Bend, Ind., on July 5, 1925, and moved to Sun City Center in 1994. After many years in sales, he worked as a counselor at Madison Center in South Bend. He was an avid sports enthusiast and enjoyed many years of golf.
Richard served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, and was stationed in Hawaii.
He will be greatly missed by his loving family and friends.
A private celebration of life will be held at Sun City Center for his family and friends.
