Pope Francis is making his first official visit to the United States from Sept. 23 to 27. The papal visit will include Washington, D.C., New York City and Philadelphia.
On Sept. 23, Pope Francis will meet with President Obama. The next day, the Pope will address a joint session of Congress in the Capitol Building.
In New York City he will attend a multi-religious service at the 9/11 Memorial and Museum at the World Trade Center, will hold a mass at Madison Square Garden, and will address the United Nations General Assembly. The Pope also stated a desire to reach out to people in need while in the city.
In Philadelphia, the Pope will conduct mass at Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul on Sept. 26.
