Cora E. Ames
Cora E. Ames, 90, of Apollo Beach, Fla., formerly of Norfolk, N.Y., passed away July 30, 2015, at the Sun City Center Hospice House with her companion John Vouros and grandniece Mary Clary by her side.
Cora was born in Norfolk, on February 7, 1925, to the late George J. and Flora (Foley) Deugaw. She married Clifford Ames on July 14, 1952, in Guilderland Center, N.Y. They enjoyed 57 years of marriage. Clifford died November 13, 2009.
Cora spent 31 years in banking, retiring from North Country Savings Bank, Potsdam, N.Y., in 1983. After retiring, she and Cliff made their home in Apollo Beach. For many summers, they traveled back north to their camp on the Racquett River in Hannawa Falls, N.Y.
Wherever she was, Cora enjoyed swimming, fishing, boating, gardening, walking, exercising, and riding her three-wheeled bicycle. She also enjoyed spending time with friends dining, dancing, playing cards and conversing. She was the life of any party and enjoyed hosting numerous gatherings of family and friends over the years. Known for her deviled eggs, she said it was dill mustard that made them so special. Cora was funny, energetic, entertaining and unpredictable. Her smile was infectious. She went out of her way to be kind and helpful, and she made a difference in every life she touched.
A Memorial Service was held at Saint Anne Catholic Church, Ruskin, Fla., with Father John McEnvoy officiating. A graveside service will be held at the Visitation Cemetery in Norfolk, N.Y., this fall. A Celebration of Life will be held at Caribbean Isles in Apollo Beach at a later date.

In loving memory of Jim Harford
Anne’s Estate Sales lost one of its own with the passing of Jim Harford. Jim worked with us for the last 14-plus years, Even when he wasn’t feeling well, he would come over to the sales in his golf cart, park in the driveway and talk to the customers. He kept us all laughing whether by a cheesy joke or an exaggerated story.
Anne’s Estate Sales has lost a much-loved man.
Rest in peace, Jim, and thanks for all of your hard work and laughs.
