The East Bay Youth Athletics 8U girls softball team has clinched a berth in the Babe Ruth World Series. Their first game is tomorrow, July 31, in Alachua, Fla., against West Volusia.

This team’s accomplishments are a first in the long history of softball and baseball at East Bay Youth Athletics (formerly East Bay Little League).

EBYA has grown to become one of the largest youth softball / baseball organizations in all of Hillsborough County.

The team’s road to the World Series began in June with a District 10 Championship followed by a 4th-place finish in the Florida State Championship Tournament, which earned them a berth in the Southeastern Regionals.

Congratulations, girls. South County is proud of you!
