A Teacher Appreciation Week to remember
Great things are happening at Apollo Beach Elementary School, thanks to teachers and staff who cultivate a culture of respect and appreciation in the classrooms and school.
That comes as no surprise since the school promotes character education and proudly holds a National School of Character award.
To show their gratitude, the PTA, parents and community members celebrated 2015 National Teacher Appreciation Week by saluting the entire staff with a weeklong celebration that the PTA called “Teacher and Staff Appreciation Week.”
From May 4-8, PTA members, along with several community businesses, gave the more than 75 teachers and staff at Apollo Beach Elementary School a memorable week filled with special events.
Among the daily activities were: Bountiful Breakfast, Serenity Spa, Tropical Lunch, Luau Smoothies and a “Sun-sational” embroidered visor.

These local businesses not only donated time and services but also generously provided goods to honor and recognize the teachers and staff.
“Apollo Beach Elementary PTA is committed to recognizing our teachers and staff who are entrusted with what we prize the most — our most precious resource, our children,” said Michele Jones, president of the Apollo Beach Elementary School PTA. “Thank you to all teachers and staff for what you do every day and thanks to our Apollo Beach community business partners who gave so generously for this special week, but also to those who continue to give so much during multiple events throughout the year. ”
