Students at Collins Elementary School will soon have new computers to replace the decade-old machines they have been using since the school opened, thanks to the efforts of the school’s Parent Teacher Association, and its teachers and students.
The Feb. 27 event at Panther Run in Riverview drew more than 100 supporters, raising at least $12,000 for new computers in the school’s media center. Organizers will be accepting donations until Friday, March 6.
This was the third Collins’ Panther Run, a PTA-sponsored event that has become the main fundraiser for the school.
