Chester Buck
Chester Buck was born February 19, 1920, in Buffalo, N.Y., to Ashley Mitchel and May Elizabeth Broughton Buck. And he passed away on December 18, 2014, the last surviving member of a family of six siblings.
Chester graduated from Lafayette High School in 1939, joined Bell Aircraft, and a few years later enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Corps, providing aircraft maintenance in that branch of the Armed Forces.
He served honorably in England until the end of World War II, advancing to the rank of sergeant.
In 1952, he wed Doris Harriet Goodes, daughter of Leonard and Ellen Goodes, all of Buffalo. He was employed by his father in a machine job shop known as D. J. Crowell Inc. He remained in this field and took proprietorship after his father’s retirement. This business was sold upon his retirement in 1960, and he then relocated to Florida.
Chester was active in the Masonic Fraternity, advancing to District Deputy Grand Master in the Eire District. In 1951, he served as the youngest-ever Worshipful Master of Ancient Landmark Lodge No. 44.
He retained membership in York Rite Bodies, Scottish Rite, Egypt Shrine, Desoto Lodge No. 105, along with several other Blue Lodges and Sun City Shrine Club until his death.
In his youth he was active in the Boy Scouts of America and attained the rank of Eagle Scout.
Chester was preceded in death by wife Doris.
He is survived by son James Buck of Minneapolis; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three nephews and three nieces; and thousands upon thousands of friends.
Christian Service and Masonic Last Rites Honors will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 19, at Trinity Baptist Church, 702 W. Del Webb Blvd. in Sun City Center.

Charles Augustus Davidson
Charles “Charlie” Augustus Davidson, 81, of Apollo Beach, Fla., entered into eternal rest on February 6, 2015. Born in Hackensack, N.J., he was a member of Providence Baptist Church.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, and he was a retired lease operator truck driver for CTL Transportation.
Charlie is survived by his wife of 60 years, Sonja B. Davidson; children Charles R. Davidson of Lithia, Sonja B. Burnham (Kevin) of St. Augustine, Eleanor “Chris” Gonzalez (Robert) of Lithia, and Theresa Davidson of Valrico; siblings Henry Davidson (Sherry) of Homasassa, and Martha Sloan of New Jersey; 18 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by daughter-in-law Tammie Brown Davidson and sister Veva Wright.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 12, at Hopewell Funeral Home, 6005 C.R. 39 S., Plant City. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to his wife, Sonja Davidson.

Howard E. Konrad
Howard E. Konrad, 89, of Sun City Center, Fla., passed away February 7, 2015. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II and retired from Johns-Manville Corporation as a ceramic engineer.
Survivors include Lorraine, his wife of 65 years; sons William (Babs) Konrad, Kenneth Konrad and Thomas (Corina) Konrad; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Memorial service will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 17, at Sun City Center Funeral Home, 1851 Rickenbacker Driver.

Harry James McMahon Jr.
Harry James McMahon Jr. passed away on Saturday, January 31, 2015. He was loved and admired by all who knew him as a wise, generous and gentle soul and a kind and loyal man.
He was much loved by his wife, Shirley, with whom he had celebrated 65 years of marriage, and adored by his two daughters, Deborah and Lynn, and five sons, Martin, Michael, Kevin, Christopher and Matthew.
Harry will be missed beyond description, but his family finds solace in knowing his legacy will endure in the many warm stories so many have of him.
In addition to his wife, Shirley, and his seven children, Harry is survived by 14 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and three sisters, Margaret, Patricia and Catherine.
Funeral Mass was held Feb. 11, at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, followed by a burial ceremony at Sarasota National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Harry’s name to LifePath Hospice, 3725 Upper Creek Drive, Ruskin, FL 33573.

Elizabeth M. Miller
Elizabeth M. Miller, or as she was known to her friends, Betty, a longtime member of the Wedgewood Homeowner’s Association in Sun City Center, died Friday, February 6, at Sun Terrace Health Care Center.
Born in 1931 in Philadelphia, Pa., Betty was a graduate of Mount Saint Joseph Academy in Flourtown, Pa. Betty worked as a secretary at the Philco/Ford Corporation from 1950-1970. She married John W. Miller at the Medford Lakes Lodge in Medford Lakes, N.J., in June 1970.
Betty enjoyed golf and bowling, socializing with friends and organizing garage sales. She is survived by sons Craig and Jeff Miller; and five grandchildren.

Janet Williams
Janet Williams., 70, of Sun City Center, Fla., passed away Thursday, January 29, 2015. She enjoyed traveling and spending time at the beach and by the pool. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert.
She is survived by her sons Robert (Stephanie) Williams and James (Alisa) Williams; grandchildren Ryan, Jonathan, Kaleigh, Shelby, Courtney and Cody; and sisters Nancy Olsen and Myra (Carl) McLaughlin.
A memorial service will take place at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 15, 2015, at Florida Mortuary Funeral and Cremation Services. Donations may be made in memory of Janet to the American Heart Association.
