Minnie Lou Brady
Minnie Lou “Nanny” Brady, 83, of Ruskin, Fla., went to be with the Lord on November 29, 2014. She was born in Quebec, Tenn., and was preceded in death by her loving husband, Ralph A, Brady, in 2001.
She is survived by sons Ralph Lewis Brady D.D. (Pam) of Seffner, Fla. and Rev. Arthur Dwight Brady (Cloana) of Blakely, Ga.; daughter Belinda Brady of Ruskin; and “daughter-in-love” Marie Potter of Ruskin. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
She was a charter member of New Beginnings Fellowship of Ruskin.
Her funeral was held Dec. 2, 2014, with burial at Fellowship Cemetery in Wimauma, Fla.
Christian F. Bruning
Christian F. Bruning, 57, of Sun City Center, Fla., passed away on Thursday, November 27, 2014. Born in Middletown, N.Y., he moved to Florida from Woodridge, N.Y.
Christian is survived by his loving wife Josephine; sisters Cheryl Bertholf, Lyn Tyler and Victoria Tawney; brother Thomas and his wife Marcella; brothers-in-law Michael De Lucia and George W. Perna Jr.; and sisters-in-law Ann Marie De Lucia, Denise J. Malik, Diana B. Perna; and nieces, nephews and Godchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Christian and Annie Bruning, and brother John Bruning.
A graveside service with honors will be presented at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 15, at Sarasota National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to www.americandiabetesassociation.com. Charles (Chuck) McGervey
Charles (Chuck) McGervey, 75, passed away November 17 in Sarasota, following complications from brain surgery.
He is survived by K. Anne, his devoted wife; children Charles Jr., Daniel and Kathleen Acquaviva; and seven grandchildren.
Chuck was involved with Sawdust Engineers and Woodcarvers, the Sun City Center Men’s Club, and the American Legion as Adjutant and Boy’s State Chairman. He volunteered more than 250 hours at Moffitt Hospital.
In Sun City Center, he was also a member of the project committee for July Fourth and Holiday Breakfast celebrations as well as a money processor at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, captain of Team 2 of the Emergency Squad, and a day captain with the Security Patrol. He was the driving force behind the new Model Builders Club. Though he had many medical challenges, he continued to forge ahead daily in his trusty golf cart.
Before he retired to Florida, Chuck was a Past District Governor of Rotary International and the founder and president of McGervey Electric Inc. in Pittsburgh.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 18, at Prince of Peach Catholic Church, 702 Valley Forge Blvd. in Sun City Center.
Mary Ryan
Mary (McCue) Ryan, 90, of Sun City Center, Fla., formerly of Wayzata, Minn., went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus, on December 2, 2014. She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Ray Ryan; parents Michael and Cora McCue; brothers John and Emmett; and sister Cora Ellen.
She is survived by daughters Mary Jo (Al) Rollins, Pamela (Tom) Nichols, Lynne (Bruce) Mallory, and Sharon (John) Engelbert; 11 grandchildren: Ray (fiancée Susan) Rollins, Neil (fiancée Srey) Rollins, Ted (Jenny) Nichols, Scott (Shawn) Nichols, Jim (Keegan) Nichols, Joe Nichols, Kaleen (Scott) Martin, Kevin Nichols, Kelly Mallory, Ana Engelbert and Alex Engelbert; and nine great-grandchildren.
Mary was born March 9, 1924, in Belle Plaine, Minn. She graduated from Belle Plaine High School and Business College. She met the love of her life, Ray Ryan, a lieutenant JG Naval officer, and married August 10, 1944. They settled to raise their family in Wayzata.
Throughout her life, she was a devoted and caring wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother; her family was her passion. She loved to cook and entertain and used her creative talents in crochet, knitting and sewing. She was an active member of the Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Sun City Center. She will be greatly missed by her family and always be remembered as a gracious, lovely, courageous woman.
Funeral Mass was held Dec. 9 at Saint Anne Catholic Church in Ruskin.Services will be held in Minnesota at a future date. Memorials preferred to Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, 3001 Metro Drive, #100, Bloomington, MN 55425.
