Marilyn Miller Bone
Marilyn Miller Bone, 74, of Sun City Center, Fla., died unexpectedly Dec. 23, 2013. She was a musician, artist, tennis player and animal lover — a faithful friend with a gentle, giving soul.
Marilyn was the only child of former Mayor John and Elizabeth Miller of Ripley, W.Va. She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, James Michael Bone, and is survived by daughter Martha Bone Zwierko and grandson Zachary, of Tampa. This Oct. 3 would have been her 75th birthday. She is deeply missed.
Katherine Coburn Dyer
Katherine Coburn Dyer, 76, lovingly known to all as Kay, passed away peacefully with family by her side on Thursday, October 2, 2014, at Florida Hospital Tampa of postsurgical complications. Kay was a four-time cancer survivor, and this surgery was needed for a fifth occurrence.
Born in St. Johnsbury, Vt., on June 3, 1938, Kay was a graduate of the St. Johnsbury Academy. She studied at Tufts University in Boston and graduated from the University of Vermont in Burlington. Kay was on the University of Vermont women’s ski team and was an active skier for most of her life. She also had a lifelong love of tennis and played weekly with the Sun City Center Tennis Association. Kay also loved choral music, and along with her husband Barry, sang with the Tampa Oratorio Singers for the last 15 years.
Kay worked as a public and private school teacher, early childhood development specialist, sales representative and, as her last and best calling, a geriatric care manager and owner of Dyer Solutions in Apollo Beach, Fla. Kay was a member of the Sun City Center Rotary Club and the Sun City Center Area Chamber of Commerce.
Survivors include her husband of 52 years, Barry Dyer; daughter Margaret “Peg” Dyer of Milwaukee, Wis.; son Daniel Dyer of Orlando; brother David (Patti) Coburn of Lower Waterford, Vt.; brother Andrew (Peggy) Coburn of Hertford, N.C.; and cousins Willis (Beth) Fitch of Spartanburg, N.C., Barbara (Larry) Vincent of Cape Coral, Fla.; Virginia (Bill) Mann of Tucson, Ariz.; and William (Judy) Chesley of Charles Town, W.V.
Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, October 11, 2014, at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Sarasota, 3975 Fruitville Road, Sarasota, FL 34232. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to charities that will be suggested at the memorial.

Jean Thomas Ford
Jean Thomas Ford, 87, passed away at Hospice House on October 6, 2014. She was born in Newport, Wales, and came to Ohio as a GI war bride. She and her late husband Carl Ford moved to Sun City Center in 1996 and they were loved by all.
Jean is survived by daughters Saundra Manin and Heidi Gillespie; grandchildren Fawn VonGunten, Bryan Warner (Kelly), Jonathan Gillespie (Sheree Greer), Kenneth Gillespie (Kristen) and Robert Gillespie II; and great-grandchildren Kera Gillespie, Scotlyn VonGunten and Brody Warner.
A memorial service will be held Sunday, Oct. 12, at 2 p.m., at United Community Church in Sun City Center.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to LifePath Hospice, 3725 Upper Creek Drive, Ruskin, FL.
John B. McDonald
John B. McDonald, 95, of Sun City Center, Fla., passed away on September 23, 2014. He was born June 19, 1919, in Chicago.
John was a World War II veteran, former POW, and Purple Heart recipient.
Funeral services and burial will be in Illinois.
