Dear Editor,
Taxpayers in Sun City Center are paying Hillsborough County millions of dollars to “fix” the street drains!
But why?
Some reasons I have heard: the design is no good; the recess cuts into the sidewalk; the recess causes falls in sidewalk walkers; the recess exposes curbing that can cause golf cart tire blowouts — et cetera, et cetera.
Well, does the water drain from the street properly? Yeah, but it still isn’t right, it looks funny!
But are such reasons enough to spend millions of taxpayers’ money to change, at least in SCC?
The “repaired” ones are no particular beauties.
