Alice J. Boylan
Alice J. Boylan, 75 of Sun City Center, Fla passed away January 22, 2013. She was preceded in death by husband Charles Boylan and by her four sisters: Alberta Nelson, Elizabeth Warren, Leona Simons and Jeannette Leach.
Survivors include daughters Susan Peters and her husband Elias, Cynthia Good and her husband Timothy, and Sally Boylan; and granddaughter Tracy Peters.
Services and burial will be in Flint, Michigan. Arrangements by Sun City Center Funeral Home.
Priscilla Stoker Chase
Priscilla Stoker Chase, 74, of Aurora, NY and Sun City Center, FL, passed away on January 24, 2013 at the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, OH after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Auburn, NY on February 25, 1938, Priscilla graduated from Morrisville Agricultural and Technical School in 1957 and went on to work as a food service manager for several schools. She also worked as food service manager, operations manager and administrator for numerous adult homes. She thrived on taking care of others and could always be counted on to lend a hand to anyone in need.
Priscilla was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star for over 50 years and also was a member of the Owasco NY Daughters of the American Revolution, where she was Chairman DAR for Service Veterans Committee. While in Sun City Center, FL, she was active in the Purple Butterflies, the Lapidary Club and ran the snack shack for the Softball Club. Priscilla loved to ride her bike and drive her purple golf cart.
Survived by loving husband of 53 years Bob Chase; devoted daughter Pam and son-in-law Rich Ryan of Stow, OH; dear sisters Cynthia Stoker of Rochester, NY; Kathy (Steve) Symula of Latham, NY; and Sandie (Bob) Gilliland of Scipio Center, NY; and many caring nieces, nephews, and cousins. Predeceased by an infant daughter; parents Edward and Ruth Stoker, Sr.; brother Edward Stoker, Jr.; and sister Sylvia Verrone.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, February 1, 2013 from 3 -7 p.m. at Shakelton Funeral Home, 418 Main Street, Aurora, NY. Funeral will be held on Saturday, February 2, 2013 at 11 a.m. at United Ministry of Aurora, 337 Main Street, Aurora, NY. Burial at Evergreen Cemetery in Scipioville, NY in the spring.
A celebration of life will be held in Sun City Center, FL at a later time.
Thelma Louise Ryan
Thelma Louise Ryan, 98, of Sun City Center, Fl, passed away on Tuesday, January 22, 2013. Born in Evansville, Indiana on April 7, 1914, she was a homemaker and a member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church, George Mercer Brooks Chapter, of the D.A.R. Daughters of the Union Veterans of the Civil War. Thelma was preceded in death by her husband Wilsie Andrew Ryan, parents Shirley and Katherine Ann Jones Snyder, brother John Roger Snyder, sister Mildred Snyder DeShields.
Survivors include daughter Carol Ryan Acosta; grandchildren Charisse Diane Acosta, Leonard Wayne Acosta, Michelle Acosta Whelchel and Darren Acosta I; great-grandchildren Danielle Acosta, Jennifer Acosta, Darren Acosta II, Grant Whelchel, Allison Whelchel-Davis; great-great-grandchild Alaina Davis; brother Robert Earl Snyder; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services were held January 29, 2013 at the Sun City Center Funeral Home.
