Frank T. Hoffman
Frank T. Hoffman, 90, of Sun City Center, FL, passed away on Aug 19, 2012. A native of Louisville, KY. he retired from ASRC in 1981 and was a WWII Army veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Marguerite (Payne); 4 sons, Tom, Steve, Dan and Bob; a daughter, Theresa; a sister, Louise; a brother George; 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
He was a member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church, an avid golfer and Tampa Bay Rays baseball fan. Interment is at the Florida National Cemetary. It is requested that memorial donations be sent to LifePath Hospice at Sun City Center.
Dorothy Railey Bishop
Dorothy Railey Bishop, 99, of Wimauma, Florida was born December 22, 1912 in Adrian Georgia. She was educated in Georgia at Women’s College of Georgia, receiving her degree in Elementary Education from Valdosta State College. After 25 years she retired from teaching in Georgia and Florida. Mrs. Bishop first married Johnny F. Railey, a senior railroad conductor, and had two children together. She then married James F. Bishop in 1972 following Mr. Railey’s death in 1944. After moving to Wimauma with Mr. Bishop she was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Wimauma.
Mrs. Bishop was a gracious and loving mother and grandmother who will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She was strongly devoted to her family and is survived by a daughter, Carolyn Johnson; son, Johnnie F. Railey; grandchildren, Janet, Judy, Bradley, Johnny and Todd; great grandchildren, Lauren, Elizabeth, Myles, Sydney, Megan, Kayla, and Nicholas. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, and members of the Bishop family. Mrs. Bishop will also be missed by her devoted caregiver Ms. Janet Sauls. Flowers accepted, or donations may be made in memory of Dorothy Railey Bishop to Lifepath Hospice or American Heart Association. Viewing services were held on Monday, August 27 and burial services were held on August 28 at National Cremation 308 E College Ave. Burial will follow at Fellowship Cemetery.
Jeanne S. Hite
July 31, 1916 – August 24, 2012
A thirty-eight year resident of Sun City Center, FL, Jeanne Hite, passed away on August 24 after a brief illness.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, McIntosh (1915-1999), and is survived by their two sons, Stephen of Durham, NC and Donald of St. George, UT along with 4 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
A 1934 graduate of Roland Park Country School in Baltimore, MD, Jeanne worked many years in Maryland in the real estate business. She was also a past Maryland State President of Epsilon Sigma Alpha Sorority.
A graveside service is being arranged by Hillsboro Memorial Gardens, 2323 W. Brandon Blvd., Brandon. A memorial service at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, Durham, NC is planned for a future date.

Kenneth Dale Mullins
Kenneth Dale Mullins, 53 of Wimauma, Fla passed away August 26, 2012. He was a lawn and landscape artist. He was preceded in death by two sons, Nathan Paul Mullins and Jason Aaron Luddington, a brother, Mark Randal Mullins and his grandparents, Hatler and Maggie Mullins and Melvern and Eunice Smith. Survivors include his parents, Paul K. and Carolyn D. Mullins, two daughters, LaDonna Victoria (Chris) Odom, and Lisa Michella (Augusto) Velazquez, two sons, Kenneth Dale Mullins II and Ryan Morris (Candy) Luddington, two sisters, Tina Lynn (Ron) Ruth and Saundra Beth (Dale) Jones, a brother, Robert Wayne Spitler, three grandchildren, seven nieces and nephews and a grand niece, Ashton Michaela Spitler.
Funeral service were held on Tuesday, August 28 at River of Life Christian Center, 6819 Krycul Avenue, Riverview, FLa. Burial Ruskin Memorial Park, Ruskin, Fla. Arrangements by Sun City Center Funeral Home.
Mirriam Gene Griggs
Mirriam Gene Griggs, 87, passed away Aug. 21, 2012 at Sun City Center. She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Ruth Harris, and her husband, Clark Griggs. She was born on November 26, 1924 in Iowa, but spent the majority of her life in Brooklyn, MI. She was co-founder of Griggs Real Estate and was active in the Brooklyn Presbyterian Church, and St Andrew Presbyterian Church in SCC. She is survived by daughters, Barbara Moore of Redford, MI, Patricia (Hank) Wesch of San Diego, CA; sons, David (Deb) of Rapid River, MI and Bronson (Cathy) of Ruskin, FL.; a sister, Ellen Bowser of Michigan Center, MI; a brother, Lorene (Elizabeth) Harris of Vandercook Lake, MI and several nieces and nephews. She had 37 grandchildren, including great and great-great grandchildren. A celebration of her life will be held at a future date in Michigan. “Genie” made friends wherever she went and was loved my many. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to a charity of choice.
Jane Cheevers
Jane Cheevers of Sun City Center and Marshfield, Massachusetts died on August 13. She is survived by her daughter Patti and son-in-law Gary Nugent, four grandchildren Jason, Nicole, Elizabeth and Christian Nugent, by her neice Marjorie Kassinger and her husband Mike and their children Lisa and Brian, and by her great great nieces Kailey, Brianni and her namesake Nylah Jane.
The life of Jane Cheevers, legendary director of Sun City Center’s annual Follies show, will be celebrated at a memorial service on Friday, September 7 at 5 p.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe church south of SR 674 on Route 301. As a professional dancer and choreographer, she brought her talent to Sun City Center in 1991 and for nearly two decades was the guiding force behind the community’s largest entertainment event. Under her direction, the Follies gained a reputation as the premier showcase for song, dance and comedy. Income from the Pelican Players’ productions, particularly the annual Follies, has allowed the organization to contribute more than $300,000 in scholarship funds to area students. An award has been established in Jane Cheevers’ name for the outstanding performer in each year’s Follies show. It has been requested that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Pelican Players Scholarship Fund and mailed to P.O. Box 5142, Sun City Center, Fl 33571.
Christopher Lee Etheridge
Christopher Lee Etheridge of Ruskin, Florida was born on December 8, 1958 and passed away on August 23, 2012. He was a loving father survived by two sons, Eric Etheridge of North Ft. Myers, Kyle Etheridge of Ruskin, and one daughter, Jillian Etheridge of Ruskin; his mother, Eva Etheridge of St. Cloud, FL. and five siblings. A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. on Saturday, September 1 at the Sun City Center Christian Center, 17566 U.S. HWY 301 S. He will always be loved and missed!
