With perfect weather, it was a perfect weekend for festivals in South Hillsborough. The weekend kicked off on Friday evening with Blues in the Grass, a free concert by Sarasota Slim and his band at E.G. Simmons Park. On Saturday morning, it was a dog’s day at Dr. Hal Ott’s Offleash Park in Ruskin. Hundreds of people and their furry best friends turned out for the event which included numerous vendors and contests. Over at E.G. Simmons Park, the fun continued through the weekend with the Pigs in the Park Festival. The family-oriented free event, including the blues concert and a redfish tournament, was produced by the Ruskin Southshore Chamber of Commerce and was sponsored by TECO and Mosaic.
