RIVERVIEW – Deputies now say one person has been confirmed dead after a shooting involving two victims in the Summerfield area of Riverview last night.
Shortly before 7 p.m. a black-clad SWAT team arrived with guns pulled at the field at the end of Woodbridge Drive telling a group of children to hurry up and run inside and tell their parents to lock their doors.
Helicopters continued to shine lights on the area until around 11 p.m. last night.
As of this morning the names of the victims have not been released but reports say the second person shot has been taken to a local hospital.
Deputies called to the fire station on Big Bend Road in Summerfield say a third person had driven there during the time of the search and was also hospitalized.
The sheriff’s office is not releasing any further information at this time due to the ongoing investigation but that all three people knew each other which makes them believe this was not a random act.
